DCUC Fire and Ice Headline Mattycollector June Early Access; MOTUC Extendar On Sale Monday

Mattycollector June 2014 Sale

Early Access for Mattycollector’s June sale should be underway now, and if all goes according to plan they should have all product with the exclusion of the Club Eternia monthly figure, the Masters of the Universe Classics Extendar, available to subscribers. This would include the DC Universe Classics Fire and Ice and the DC Total Heroes deluxe Black Manta – although all three are labeled simply “DCU” – perhaps encourage collector adoption of the new Total Heroes line.

Ice is the quarterly Classics figure remaining from the Club Infinite Earths sub that didn’t meet the thresholds this year, and is smartly paired with Fire, who was the DC figure for August last year. It’s good news for subscribers – in March, hook-handed Aquaman was not available during Early Access and was a quick sell-out during All Access. I’ll be surprised if Ice remains in stock after Early Access – All Access for June opens Monday, June 16, at 9AM PST.

Nothing New in Mattycollector’s Early Access for May; Scorpia and Battle Lion Arrive Tomorrow

Mattycollector May 2014 Sale

Club Eternia subscribers double up with the Masters of the Universe Classics Scorpia and Battle Lion this month. Inexplicably, those figures are not available through Early Access, which should be open now with a lackluster offering of has-beens: Elongated Man and Saint Walker from DC Universe Classics and Octavia and Netossa from Masters.

All access, which adds Scorpia and Battle Lion back into the mix, opens up tomorrow at 9AM PST.

Mattycollector Early Access for April Open Now; All Access for MOTUC Blade Tomorrow

Mattycollector April 2014 Sale

If you’re a Club Eternia subscriber, Early Access for April is now open. Most months there’s not much more available than what you’re getting in your sub, besides some re-releases of older Masters of the Universe Classics and inventory clearing of the remaining DC Universe Classics stock. However, this month, subscribers get a shot at Loo-Kee and Kowl (the chase figures that will pop up from time to time like the Spirit of Hordak did last year) and Goat Man (the figure for the “other” conventions this year).

Those figures won’t be part of the All Access sale starting tomorrow at 9AM PST, but in addition to the Club Eternia Masters of the Universe Classics Blade, they’ve got Batros and Strong-Or from Club Filmation, a new mini pack with Skeletor and Moss Man, and the remaining Wally West Flash figures from DC Universe Classics.

Masters of the Universe Classics Club Eternia – Map of the Horde Empire Viewer

Each year when the Club Eternia exclusives ship, I publish one of the more popular posts on AFP – the map viewer for the Club Eternia exclusive map. This year, Mattel shipped the Map of Horde Empire with the very mysterious Unnamed One. I still don’t know what the Unnamed One looks like, because I’m away from home.

  • Position your mouse over areas of the map to magnify it.
  • To zoom in or out, scroll up or down with your mousewheel.

If I’m away, how did I get this map done? Big thanks again to my wife, who made this possible again this year. Enjoy exploring the Horde Empire, and be sure to visit our previous installments:

DC Universe Classics Passes the Torch at Mattycollector March Sale

Mattycollector March Sale

I’m sure it’s no coincidence that Mattycollector’s March sale (underway now) includes figures from Mattel’s outgoing DC Universe Classics and incoming DC Universe Total Heroes lines. Hook-handed Aquaman is the first of the last four DCUC figures, and John Stewart (with alternate Green Lantern heads) is the first deluxe Total Heroes figure to be sold on Matty. All six Watchmen figures are also up, for those of you who didn’t sub to Club Black Freighter or are just looking to cherry-pick.

On the Masters of the Universe Classics front, it’s the relatively unexciting Hydron, following blockbuster releases of Two Bad and Modulok – but he’s joined by New Adventures He-Man and Fang Man from last year, if they didn’t sell out during Early Access. Even if you’re not a New Adventures fan, you might want to pick up a Galactic Protector He-Man for the easy hand swap He-Man custom.
