Kickstarter Monday: Vitruvian HACKS Packaging / Paint Masters and Gothitropolis Ravens Production and Shipping Update

It’s been a while since I checked in on the two largest action figure Kickstarters, and things are progressing well for both. Vitruvian HACKS hit every planned stretch goal and then some. Now the team at Boss Fight Studio is moving forward on the designs for the additional figures. On the Raven front, the Four Horsemen have had some delays, but are closing on on shipping to backers.

I backed both of these projects in a big way. Maybe I went overboard, because I definitely don’t have space for everything – but it’s good to see things moving along nicely for both.

SDCC 2014: Four Horsemen Plan to Follow Gothitropolis Ravens with Mythic Legions Kickstarter

SDCC 2014 - Four Horsemen Studios

It’s been a long road traveled for the Four Horsemen’s highly successful Gothitropolis Ravens Kickstarter project, and the finish line is in sight. I talked to Cornboy at Preview Night, and although it was tough going, working with three separate factories to get through the pantographing to tooling to painted prototypes, but the 4H are very happy that the quality of the factory samples is meeting their exacting standards.

Boss Fight Studio’s Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. is the Most-Funded Action Figure Kickstarter, and They’re Not Done Yet

Last night, Boss Fight Studio’s Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Kickstarter project surpassed $315K funding, achieving two big milestones. First, the project unlocked all the original stretch goals for the project, including a fully-articulated skeleton figure and a unique Spartan, Stonefist the Gorgon Hunter. And second, the project became the most-funded action figure project in Kickstarter history – no small feat, considering the biggest one to date had been last year’s Four Horsemen’s Gothitropolis Ravens campaign.

To keep up the momentum, Boss Fight added four more stretch goals, and then another three when those started to be unlocked. If all stretch targets are met, there will be three more skeleton color variants, three variant accessory packs, and a unique Amazon. Of course, that’s another $50K to cover to hit the $400K mark – but with that $500 All-In reward getting better and better, would you be surprised if they made it?

Funding for Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. closes at 7:52PM PDT tonight.

Kickstarter Monday: Legends of Cthulhu and Vitruvian HACKS Ending This Week; Four Horsemen Show Ravens Paint Samples

Lots of excitement for action figure fans in this Kickstarter update. Two funding campaigns are closing this week – Warpo’s Legends of Cthulhu ends on Wednesday, July 9, and Boss Fight Studio’s Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S.  ends Friday, July 11. Both are already funded and will proceed. Now it’s just a question of how many stretch goals each will unlock before the closing bell.

Meanwhile, the Four Horsemen provided four massive updates on their Gothitropolis Ravens project, which was funded back in August last year – 55 pics of paint samples from the factory.

Four Horsemen Gothitropolis Raven Test Shots Look Amazing

While the Four Horsemen refer to these as the “first” test shots, the more accurate way to describe them would be as the first test shots after earlier looks at the Gothitropolis Ravens revealed problems with scale and detail that required retooling. I don’t recall if this was part of the earlier acknowledgement of the issues, but this latest update discusses a move to a new factory for the fix.

There are a couple of shots of the upcoming figures with the Scarabus, the previous figure from the Gothitropolis Fantastic Exclusive line – while it could be the perspective of the photos, it still looks like the Raven may be a little undersized. But what is undeniable is that the detail and articulation of the figures looks great. The Four Horsemen provided 32 pics in this update, so enjoy!
