Happiest Place on Earth Hosts Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries Exhibit

Iron Man Tech Exhibit at Disneyland 1

If you can’t make the around the world flight to Hong Kong to see the Iron Man 3 Suit Up at Hysan Place exhibit, maybe you can check out something closer to home, at the Happiest Place on Earth, no less. Disneyland is temporarily home to the Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries exhibit. Much like Suit Up in Hong Kong, this show includes a life-sized Hall of Armor and a virtual exhibit where you can suit up as Iron Man – I wonder if it’s the same exhibit as the Hong Kong show.

The Disney show includes some memorabilia from the first two Iron Man movies, but it doesn’t include the showcase of Hot Toys Iron Man product that served as a scaled down companion to the life-sized Hall of Armor at the Hong Kong show. I’m wondering if a road trip is in order.

Hot Toys Announces Three More Iron Man 3 Armors

Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Mark 17 Heartbreaker Diecast

After watching the second Iron Man 3 trailer, the one with all those Iron Men, the first thing that crossed my mind (after “AWESOME!” of course) was “Hot Toys is going to have a field day with this!”

Today they announced three new armors from the movie, one for each of their 1/6 scale figure lines. For their premium Diecast line, it’s the Mark XVII Heartbreaker, the artillery level RT suit – this is the third Diecast product they’ve announced, joining the Mark XLII and the Iron Patriot. For Movie Masterpiece, it’s the Mark XXXVIII Igor, the heavy lifting suit – this one is reminiscent of the Hulkbuster armor from the comics, despite its blue coloring. And for the Power Pose line, it’s the Mark XXXV Redsnapper Armor, the disaster rescue suit – it’s joining the Mark XLII in the statue category.

And they’re promising even more armors to come. My wallet is going to need a break, or at least a cash infusion from Tony Stark.

DC Universe Classics New 52 Hawkman Marvel Legends Classic Horned Iron Man

Of their respective waves, the DC Universe Classics New 52 Hawkman and the classic horned Iron Man are the hardest to find on retail shelves, but they are both available now in limited quantities on Amazon.com.

If you’ve been looking for them, snap these up fast. Hawkman will likely sell out first – as of the timing of this post, there’s only 3 left at this price.

Sideshow Collectibles Previews Life-Sized Iron Man

Speaking of life-sized Iron Men that I can’t afford, Sideshow Collectibles is coming out with a 1:1 scale figure (read: statue) of the Mark 42 armor. The Sideshow life-sized Terminator T-800 Endoskeleton is priced at $5,999.99, so I’m expecting something in that neighborhood for Iron Man. Might not be quite that expensive, since it might be a little easier to produce.

Hot Toys Iron Man Suit Up at Hysan Place: Life-Sized vs 12-Inch Hall of Armors, Armor Concept Designs, and Virtual “Become Iron Man” Video

Here’s a few more pics from the Iron Man 3 Suit Up at Hysan Place in Hong Kong. I am totally digging the juxtaposition of the life-sized armors with Hot Toys’ 1/6 versions.

Maybe if I win the Powerball I’ll build my own Hall of Armors – sadly, that comment applies to both scales.
