SDCC 2014: Bluefin Tamashii Nations, Part 2

Here are more pics from Bluefin Tamashii Nations’ booth at SDCC 2014:

S.H. FIGUARTS DC INJUSTICE

I’ve never played the game, but I’m lovin’ the look of this Injustice Batman! They also had Injustice Joker on display. Both figures come with new exclusive accessories, a mask for Batman and a gas mask for Joker.

They also were teasing silhouettes of Injustice Superman and Harley Quinn.

SDCC 2014: DC Collectibles Reveals New Batman the Animated Series Figures

SDCC 2014 DC Collectibles Batman the Animated Series

I’ve got more DC Collectibles to come, but for my last post tonight I wanted to share DC Collectibles’ figures from Batman: The Animated Series. Series 1 (Batman, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, and Catwoman) and series 2 (Poison Ivy, Joker, Robin, and Man-Bat) were both present in what looks to still be hand-painted resin casts. There’s still a ways to go, with the first wave due in November and the second in December.

They also showed off four more figures, which I presumed to be series 3 – Harley Quinn in hand-painted resin, and Batgirl, Killer Croc, and Baby Doll in unpainted resin or 3D prints. The latter three don’t have any articulation cut in, while Harley looks to be as far along as her Mr. J.

SDCC 2014: Hot Toys Batman / Dark Knight

SDCC 2014 Hot Toys Dark Knight Bat Signal

I know what you were thinking – with Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy wrapped up, our wallets might get a break from Hot Toys Batman stuff. At least until Batman vs. Superman comes out, and because a lot of us hate the idea of Batfleck, maybe that break might go longer. Well, in a word… WRONG.

Hot Toys is making the most of the Dark Knight license adding multi-packs, including a Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth set, and a Robin, Commissioner Gordon, and Bat Signal (oddly called the “Batman Spotlight”) set. And, to top it off, we’re also getting a Batman from the Arkham City game from Hot Toys – because we need that character in every single scale known to action figure collectors.

I forgot to get pics of the Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker version 2, available at Sideshow as a summer “Toy Fairs” exclusive. I’ll go back tomorrow.

Bandai S.H.Figuarts Makes Batman and Joker from Injustice Look Awesome

Remember when Mattel started adding figures from Injustice to their Batman and DC Unlimited lines (the “successors” to DC Universe Classics)? As the figures arrived on shelves, I remember thinking how awful the costume designs were. Having never played the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game, maybe my opinion was uninformed. And now, these upcoming Batman and Joker figures from Bandai in their S.H. Figuarts line, I’m loving the Injustice looks.

Maybe it’s just the execution that counts. The Mattel figures looked horrible and stiff – these look gorgeous and look like they’ll move even better. Granted, the Batman design is for an alternate Injustice costume. And Mattel’s price was under $20, while these are listed at nearly $60 – more than the price I usually see for Figuarts. Still, when the pre-orders show up, I’ll be hard-pressed to resist. These are slated to arrive in December.

WebSwipe: Batman: The Animated Series Wave 1 and 2 Reveals – MTV.com

Batman The Animated Series 1 and 2 Reveals - MTV.com

We’ve been oooohing and aaahing over the new line of 6-inch super-articulated figures coming from DC Collectibles for Batman: The Animated Series later this year. We’d previously seen the first wave, with Batman and Catwoman in detail and Two-Face and Mr. Freeze in digital sculpt form. In the latest reveal, MTV.com posted color pics of Two-Face and Mr. Freeze, and revealed three of the four figures coming in wave two. The fourth figure will be revealed by DC Collectibles on Friday.

The Gentle Giant-sculpted figures are due out near the end of the year. Wave one had been previously scheduled for a November release, and wave two is to follow on its heels in December. Any guesses who the final figure in wave two will be?
