Hasbro has shared official pics for their reveals at the ‘Twas the Night Before… Party kicking off New York Comic Con. They’ve included shots from Marvel Legends (both 6-inch and 3.75-inch – we’ll continue to refer to the smaller scale as Marvel Universe), Star Wars: the Black Series, and various Transformers waves.

They have more in store for Star Wars (their biggest reveals were not part of the officially released pics), and highlighted that in 2016, Transformers branding will transition from Combiner Wars to a new theme: Titans Returns, Part 2 of the just-announced Prime Wars Trilogy.

NYCC 2015 - Hasbro Marvel Legends (1 of 22)

As has been their tradition for the last few year, Hasbro kicked off NYCC 2015 with their ‘Twas the Night Before… Party, revealing new items from their action figure brands. We took a look at their Marvel and Star Wars lines, with a focus on their 6-inch figures in Marvel Legends and the Black Series from Star Wars. And we got to chat with our long-time friend, Jesse Falcon, from the Marvel licensing team.

Power Man & Iron Fist: Revenge of the Wrecking Crew – BillsComics.com

Bill is back with his latest action figure comic – Power Man and Iron Fist: Revenge of the Wrecking Crew. This is a follow-up to one of his favorite comic stories, in which Iron Fist battles the Wrecking Crew, with a little help from Captain America (in Iron Fist #11 and 12, a Chris Claremont and John Byrne classic from way back in 1977).

The Wrecker also had a beef with Power Man, from when Luke Cage took him on during Cage’s debut in the Fantastic Four, replacing a de-powered Ben Grimm (you can check this out in Fantastic Four #168 on Marvel Unlimited, another classic from way back in ’76.)

So enjoy, and be sure to check out the rest of Bill’s work here at AFP and at Bill’s Comics.

STGCC 2015: Star Wars, Marvel, DC, and More – by Jedd

STGCC 2015 booth pics by Jedd

Our good friend Jedd was at the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention this past weekend, and sent us this update.

I just got done with STGCC 2015! I’ve attached some booth photos, as with every year, Hot Toys has some impressive dioramas and displays up, with more of a Star Wars bent this year due to the imminent release of The Force Awakens. We also had a giant life-sized Hulk vs. Hulkbuster statue. The photos of Marvel statues (Elektra, Daredevil, Iron Man, Black Bolt) are from XM Collectibles. I’m not really sure who made the Poison Ivy statue prototype but I thought it was pretty enough to include. Then there are the actually levitating DeLorean and hoverboard models from KidLogic.

The local Star Wars collecting community did up a few dioramas, including the LEGO Simpsons family watching a performance of Jizz (yes, we’ve all heard the jokes) by the Bith musicians at Mos Eisley Cantina, and Hasbro Black Series figures lining up to get some satay from street food vendor Jabba the Hutt.

Here are links to my annual Mega Picture Posts:

We’ll have more from Jedd soon, as he was able to interview toy designer Jason Freeny, famous for his anatomical cross-section toy sculptures. Stay tuned!
