Hasbro has shared a ton of pictures (101 of them!) of upcoming products across its boys toys lines – GI Joe, Marvel, Star Wars, and Transformers were all represented this time around. We’ll start with GI Joe – they only included one shot versus the bunch they included in the August press pics, but Sandman is liking the new line. Don’t be fooled by the link in Diamond’s shipping update for Star Trek TOS Series 5 – the lineup was changed to Kirk in his green dress shirt, a reissue of Scotty, and a Romulan. The DST website still shows short-sleeved McCoy, Nurse Chapel, Yeoman Rand, and Kirk – the only survivor of this particular away party. The other three are still in limbo. Some of you remember that the DC Universe Classics Legion of Super-Heroes reveal was announced way back in May when Previews provided the solicitation for this issue of ToyFare. The five LoSH figures gracing the awesome cover were on display at San Diego Comic-Con, but I’m still looking forward to hearing more from Toy Guru and Bill Benecke.

So we’ve been back from Comic-Con for a week, and boy do we have tons of pics to share with you all! For our final day of giveaways, we’ve got the Star Wars Bounty Hunters 2-Pack. This was previously available at Jedi Con in Dusseldorf, Germany, and will be reissued for Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando, Florida, in August. Star Wars Vintage Collection Bounty Hunters 4-Lom and Zuckuss 2-Pack
While 4-Lom and Zuckuss are now quite well-known to fans, their proper names were initially a topic of considerable debate. When Kenner first produced the figures, the names somehow got reversed. But since these two bounty hunters were not identified in the film, the switch was not immediately noticed. When the mix-up was finally caught and corrected in 1989, Zuckuss and 4-Lom finally got back their rightful identities. In this exclusive set, we are paying homage to the first appearance of these bounty hunters that puzzled so many for years, with replicas of the original packaging-switched names and all!

At the end of last week we had a preview of what was to appear in Toyfare #157, the San Diego Comic-Con pre-show issue, and that issue is on news stands today. I think the editorial staff at Toyfare is trying to dominate the search engine results for “WORLD PREMIERE” and “WORLD PREMIERING” – there’s going to be a lot to see in this issue, including a new 12-inch Star Wars line from Gentle Giant that I had heard nothing about before today. With a week to go before the big show, Hasbro’s sent us some big pics of all of their exclusives. Are you a fan of Star Wars and action figures? Then Toy Wars may just be your kind of movie. Sillof, who is widely known for his themed custom action figure creations, like the Gaslight Legion of Doom, has published the first part of his remake of Star Wars: a New Hope. What makes it special? Toy Wars is filmed entirely with Sillof’s 3.75-inch scaled custom figures and dioramas. While I found myself missing the spoken words, I was amazed at the different set pieces that Sillof created.
