Watch Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?! Ep. 17

When Avengers clash over the big game, can commercials save the day?

It’s a joyous day for the Avengers, as they gather to celebrate the Heroic Age by watching the big game. But will an old rivalry between Captain America and Iron Man ruin everything?

In the latest episode of Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?!, its up to Spider-Man to keep the peace using the greatest weapon at his disposal: hilarious TV commercials! You too can thrill to these classic ads re-imagined in the What The–?! style and featuring the likes of M.O.D.O.K., Thor, Toad, Xorn, and of course Deadpool! But will it be enough to get Cap and Shellhead back on the same page? Spidey sure hopes so, because he cant take another Civil War!

Marvel Minimates Series 38 Packaged Pics

Diamond Select Toys announced Marvel Minimates Series 38 back in November. Here are their packaged pics. I am still planning on picking up the modern Iron Fist. In fact, I’d love to see an Immortal Iron Fist wave or two.

Marvel Minimates series 38

The Marvel Minimates just keep on coming! Series 38 is based on the “Shadowland” story line and includes Evil Daredevil and Elektra, Big Time Spider-Man and Iron Fist, White Tiger or Classic White Tiger and a Hand Ninja. Look for them at your local comic shop.

Mattel WWE Elite Collection Series 8 Press Pics

Mattel has posted pictures of their WWE Elite Collection Series 8 on their Facebook page.

I’m going to nitpick here a little. Comparing series 8 Edge with his series 1 figure, I’m glad Mattel and the WWE have started including facial sculpts with some emotion – but some of them are a little extreme, and in combination with what appears to be more simplistic paint apps, these are starting to lose some of the “realism” that I appreciated earlier in the line.

AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 2/1/11

Here’s the story – our questions for December 15 missed the deadline, and then I misplaced them when we got the answers back for January 15. But we’ll be back on the Ask Matty circuit when it starts up again after Toy Fair – and I’m sure we’ll have lots of questions following their Toy Fair presentation on February 13.

In any case, thanks to the Mattel team, and forgive us for the holiday and end-of-year-oriented questions, plus being a day late on top of that!

1) The holidays are right around the corner. What Mattel collector items might last minute shoppers find on the shelf, and what are your recommendations for best gifts this season?

You ever get the feeling that a toy line was made just for you? That’s how I feel about Mattel’s WWE Legends line.
