I’ve been waiting for a while for someone to pick up the Valve license. You may not know who Valve is, but they’ve got some of the most popular games out there, including Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2.
The first items are available for pre-order – the Heavy from TF2. There’s four versions of the 12-inch statue. Red and Blu, each with a regular and exclusive version that includes an alternate head. At $229.99 for a regular and $244.99 for the exclusive, these might be a little out of my price range no matter how much I love the Valve games.
Gaming Heads is very proud to have signed a license with Valve to produce a range of different collectible lines from Valve’s portfolio of franchises, including Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2.
The Valve collection line up will include:
18 inch statues from Half Life 2
12 inch statues from Team Fortress 2
12 inch statues from Left 4 Dead 2
Life size props
Gaming Heads will use original game files to ensure an accurate and artistic representation of each collectible.
VeeBee at the Fwoosh has a nice first look at the second over-sized figure in the Masters of the Universe Classics line (Battle Cat was the first). Tytus goes on sale in two weeks, on May 17.
One of the great things about the MOTUC line at this point is that is has been successful enough that the collection is expanding in all sorts of ways. We are seeing MOTU, PoP and NA figures, beasts, and now giants and by this time next year, your MOTUC shelves are going to look very cool and extremely diverse. Tytus is also the first rotocast figure in the line so there are certainly some differences from the standard figures to the big guy.
AFP’s Iron Mania Week continues with a gargantuan guest review of Iron Man 2 Comic Series Wave 2 by Ash Talon. The 2nd wave of this line has just started hitting Toys R Us.
Iron Man is without a doubt my favorite comic book character. I own every issue of his several series going all the way back to Tales of Suspense #39. So when Hasbro announced a series of comic book-based action figures to run concurrently with the Iron Man 2 product, I was in heaven. It’s an idea that Hasbro mistakenly bypassed during the first Iron Man movie. But they’re learning, right?
The first wave of comic-based figures arrived in early March. Just this week, the second wave landed, and it’s just as stellar.
We may be running an Iron Mania week here at AFP, but at Marvel, the entire month of May is devoted to Iron Man.
We’re celebrating the May 7 (April 28 internationally) release of “Iron Man 2” with Iron Man Month 2010! Get ready for a monthlong mega mix of all things Shellhead right here on Marvel.com!
For this week’s Take 10, Marvel highlights ten of their favorite Iron Man action figures of all time.
Take 10: Iron Man Action Figures
We run down 10 of our favorite Iron Man toys from throughout the ages
Every week, a secret cabal of Marvel staffers gathers to discuss the best of the best when it comes to the House of Ideas.
Chances are, if you’re a fan of AFP, then you’ve seen the Iron Man movie, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the title character. And you probably know that the sequel, Iron Man 2, Metallic Boogaloo (I made that up) is opening this upcoming Friday, May 7.
Because we’re such big fans of Iron Man, this week we’re celebrating Iron Mania – each day (we hope) we will have Iron Man toy-related content, all leading up to the premiere of Iron Man 2. Then, on premiered day, we’ll hold a Free Stuff drawing and give away this prize pack consisting of two Iron Man baddies, Iron Monger and Crimson Dynamo. Iron Monger is from the Movie Series and was the villain from the first movie. Crimson Dynamo is from the Comic Series and is a classic Iron Man villain.
To find out how to qualify to win the Iron Mania prize pack, check out our Free Stuff page. Good luck and enjoy AFP’s Iron Mania!
