Funko Marvel Collector Corps

Funko Pop fans – if you’re looking for the Age of Ultron Hulkbuster, there’s only one way to get it. That’s by being a member of Funko’s Marvel Collector Corps. The Collector Corps will offer a new goodie box every two months to members. For $25, you’ll get a box with $50 worth of Marvel merchandise. The first is due to go out this month, and will include the Funko Pop Age of Ultron Hulkbuster Iron Man, a variant Marvel comic book, and a t-shirt (one of four designs). The next box hasn’t been revealed, but it will have an Ant-Man theme.

But that’s not all – Marvel is sponsoring weekly giveaways leading up to the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron (pre-order your Avengers: AOU tickets on Fandango). Each week, a lucky winner will get a whole year of the Marvel Collector Corps as their prize. That will include the Age of Ultron box with the Hulkbuster Iron Man, five more Marvel boxes with $50 worth of  goodies in them, and an exclusive Founder’s statue. (You can get that too even if you don’t win the giveaway, by subscribing in April and going for the full year.)

It’s easy to enter the giveaway – just post a fan photo on Twitter or Instagram with the #AvengersUltimateFanSweeps hashtag. You can even use one of the pics of the Hulkbuster included here.

Border Patrol: Marvel Legends Rogue, WWE Seth Rollins, and Transformers Optimus Prime

Border Patrol - Marvel Legends Rogue, WWE Seth Rollins, Transformers Optimus Prime

In this edition of Border Patrol, we’ve got some tried and true favorites plus a new champ:

  • Marvel Legends Rogue by Loose Collector – the DC Direct Hush Poison Ivy has been a go-to head for the likes of Rogue and Jean Grey for years, but the Loose Collector crew is one of the few capable of executing the recipe so cleanly – ends Wednesday, April 8 at 7:03PM PST
  • WWE Wrestlemania 31 Seth Rollins by highlytales88 – just how much is a WWE Heavyweight championship worth? – after snatching the title from Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 31, this Seth Rollins custom skyrocketed in price, getting bid up by fans looking to secure memorabilia from his championship run – ends Thursday, April 9 at 4:57PM PST
  • Transformers Masterpiece Optimus Prime by billmeistercustoms – it’s been a while since I’ve seen a Masterpiece Optimus Prime, but with as many as there have been, and as many as there will be, it makes you wonder just how much more Takara and Hasbro could charge for a metallic paint job – ends Wednesday, April 8 at 11:16AM PST

In AFP’s Border Patrol, we scour active eBay auctions for customized action figures that you won’t want to let slip by!

Bandai reveals the Iron Man Mark 45 armor and teases an upcoming Hulkbuster

Bandai SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron 01

Thanks to Japanese photo blogger to ho (blog at seesaa.net | Flickr) we’ve got a really nice look at the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron figures due from Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts line. to ho took a whole bunch of pictures at the Akiba Showroom, Bandai’s official showroom for Tamashii Nations. Knowing how much fun I have looking at Bandai’s stuff with the limited display space they have at shows like San Diego Comic-Con, I can only imagine how awesome it is to see a whole showroom filled with their stuff.

Bandai had previously revealed four Avengers: AOU figures:

  • Iron Man Mark 43 (due out in April)
  • Captain America and Hulk (due out in July)
  • Thor (due out in September)

However, to ho also shot pics of a previously unannounced figure – the Iron Man Mark 45, who was standing alongside the rest of the Avengers figures.

Das Toyz to Produce Stan Lee 1/6 Scale Figure

Limited edition made in collaboration with Go Hero, Executive Replicas, and Phicen

Das Toyz Stan Lee One Sixth Scale Figure

Long-time fans of Marvel Legends may remember that Stan “The Man” Lee got his own San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Marvel Legends figure back in 2007. Now, the comic book icon is getting a figure in the 1/6 or 12-inch scale, from newcomer Das Toyz. He can stand among the rest of your Marvel heroes and villains from your Hot Toys and (soon) Sideshow collections – many of whom he had a hand in creating.

With a very limited release of 1,000 figures, he won’t be cheap – you can pre-order Stan Lee from BigBadToyStore or Go Hero for $249.99. But he will come with two interchangeable heads (one current, one from the 70s, when he sported a beard), four pairs of hands, and various accessories, like his trademark specs and pinky ring.

And oddly enough, if you’re looking for that Legends figure of Stan Lee – his 6-inch version going for nearly as much as the bigger one in the aftermarket. Check out these Marvel Legends Stan Lee listings on eBay and Amazon.

Kickstarter Monday: Build Up Your Weapons Arsenal with Marauder’s 1/12 Scale Gear Project

New Kickstarter project marks the move to 6-inch scale

Marauder One Twelfth Scale Gear Kickstarter

Marauder is best known for their work in the 1/18 or 4-inch scale. They’ve been in business for about a decade and have produced a lot of weapons and accessories for military figures, like G.I. Joes. Last year, they raised almost $250K on Kickstarter for the Marauder Task Force, a 4-inch scale action figure line featuring a modular system that allows for a lot of easy customization. (Boss Fight Studio, the group behind Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S., designed and sculpted the figures.)

For their latest project, their fourth on Kickstarter, Marauder is returning to weapons and accessories, this time for 6-inch scale figures. One pledge level is for six weapons (4 unique rifles, a pistol, and an RPG) that would be an instant arsenal upgrade for a Marvel Legends Punisher, for example. Another pledge is an army builder pack (4 each of AK-47s, M4s, and commando rifles), great for if you want to give your AIM or Hydra agents some conventional weapons.

Marauder is known for their attention to detail and accuracy, and the weapons will be modular and customizable, via options that will be made available as stretch goals. They are looking to raise a modest $14K, and already have 28 stretch goals planned. To support this project, visit the Marauder GR 1:12 Scale Gear for 6 inch Action Figures project page on Kickstarter. The funding period closes on May 4. Thanks to @almostahermit for the heads up on this.
