Make Your Perfect Getaway with the Hot Toys Joker Giveaway

Sideshow Collectibles Joker Bank Robber v2 Giveaway

Sideshow Collectibles is hosting a particularly tempting giveaway for the Hot Toys “Bank Robber” Joker from opening sequence of The Dark Knight. This is Hot Toys’ second iteration of this version of the Heath Ledger Joker – it features improved paint apps on the Joker head sculpt, a new alternate head featuring the clown mask, and better fitting clothes, among other improvements. It was a “Toy Fair” exclusive last year, meaning it was available at various conventions internationally and exclusively through Sideshow here in the States.

Of course, if you don’t want to enter the giveaway, which ends this Sunday, March 22, you can always just buy the Joker (Bank Robber Version 2.0) Sixth Scale Figure directly from Sideshow, and introduce a little anarchy…

Hasbro Marvel Legends Batroc, Spider-Woman, and Thanos Video Fly-By

Marvel Legends Batroc, Spider-Woman, and Thanos - AFP video fly-by

In my excitement to post pics of Batroc, Spider-Woman, and (part of) the Thanos build-a-figure from the latest wave of Marvel Legends, I forgot to shoot a fly-by video. Allow me to correct that.

Now that I’ve got a few of these on the AFP YouTube channel, would you guys give me some feedback? When I watch video reviews of figures, most of the time I mute the sound, and let the figures speak for themselves. But what do you like? Would you prefer some music, or even some commentary? What else would you like to see? Let me know.

The Walking Dead TV Action Figures 25% Off – Today Only!

McFarlane The Walking Dead - 25 percent off one-day sale

The Walking Dead might be on Sunday nights, but it’s Wednesday and the McFarlane Walking Dead action figures from the TV series are on sale at Entertainment Earth for  25% off – just for today, so don’t miss out.

I’m not collecting these myself, but this might be a good time to jump on board, or just fill out your roster of survivors and walkers from the show. Almost all of the main cast from the past couple of seasons are available. (Daryl, Beth, Maggie, and Carl are the notables ones that aren’t.) And there’s zombies too, including Merle. Sorry if that’s a spoiler – hey, that happened a while ago!

Note: Our email digests are sent out once a day (we don’t want to clog your inbox when we post more than that), and some subscribers can miss out on these one day only sales. Please consider following AFP on Facebook, Google+, and Twitter for instant updates. Happy shopping!

Mattel Reveals Prahvus for Club 200X Final Week – Will He Be Enough?

Masters of the Universe Classics Club 200X Prahvus reveal

With less than a week to go, Mattycollector revealed the final figure, Prahvus – the Evil Master of Doom – for its under-subscribed and at risk Club 200X. As of the last official update, the six figure plus one exclusive accessory pack subscription was at 50% of the needed pre-orders to guarantee that all the figures would be made. (We looked at what might happen if Club 200X doesn’t hit its target in our last Soapbox Sunday.)

Prahvus joins Callix, Evil Seed, King Chooblah (the Kulatak Elder), Ceratus, and Queen Grayskull as the six figures in Club 200X. The Heads of Eternia exclusive accessory pack includes MOTU 200X heads for Grizzlor, Buzz-Off, Sy-Klone, Roboto, Snout Spout, and Clawful. The subscription period ends Monday, March 23 – if you were still on the fence, is Prahvus enough to get you to sub?

More Batman: The Animated Series, Arrow, and the Flash in DC Collectibles Solicits for October 2015

DC Collectibles October 2015 Solicits - Batman the Animated Series, Arrow, and The Flash

DC Collectibles’ solicits for October include figures that we saw during Toy Fair, from Batman: the Animated Series, Arrow, and The Flash.

In addition to a wave of figures for B:TAS that includes Bane and Nightwing, the line will also get its first vehicle – an in scale Batmobile (two feet long!) with working hatch, room for two 6-inch figures, and LED lights. At $99.95, it’s about double what Mattel charged for it’s 6-inch scaled Batmobile for the 1966 series – but less than half the $215 that Mattycollector wanted for the Ghostbusters Ecto-1.

So, who’s going to buy the B:TAS Batmobile (check out our video fly-by of the vehicle)? I’m on the fence.
