Pop Culture Shock’s He-Man and Battle Cat Quarter Scale Statues Have the Power!

Pop Culture Shock He-Man and Battle Cat Quarter Scale Statues

I don’t normally post about statues – for the most part I can’t afford and don’t have the space for them – but these quarter scale statues of the Master of the Universe He-Man and Battle Cat are too good to ignore. They’re from Pop Culture Shock Collectibles and will be going up for pre-order over the next couple of weeks; the pre-order dates are July 13 if you want to order them in a combo (with a discount) and July 20 if you want to buy them individually. And tell me, how can you have He-Man without Battle Cat? I mean, the statues are designed to stand side-by-side, just like Battle Cat is forever destined to be at He-Man’s side in combat! Right?

Speaking of He-Man’s trusty steed, the Battle Cat statue comes in two versions. The regular version, available from specialty online retailers, will feature the helmeted look. The PCSC exclusive will have the same helmeted head, but with LED light effects. The exclusive will also come with an unmasked head. The combo comes with the exclusive Battle Cat, so it will be available on the 13th at the Pop Culture Shock website for $900, or $765 if you pre-pay in full. It will also come with a signed art print by Eamon O’Donoghue.

Now where did I put those lottery tickets?

Target Creates Listing for Exclusive Marvel Legends Ultron, Hulk, and Vision 3-Pack

But the placeholder lists it as out of stock

Marvel Avengers Target Exclusive Legends 3-Pack Hulk Ultron and Marvel's Vision

Last year, Target had the Marvel Legends Ms. Marvel (Warbird), Captain America, and Radioactive 3-pack exclusive. At Toy Fair, Hasbro announced Target would be following it up with Ultron, Hulk, and the Vision. I’ve been wondering when it was going to show up, and our good pal Paul spotted it and let us know. Here it is:

The listing looks like it’s a placeholder for eventual release; it’s currently listed as out of stock. And it looks to be built off of last year’s exclusive 3-pack. While the title and main image reflect this year’s exclusive, the additional pictures and product description feature Ms. Marvel, Cap, and Chen Lu. It’s also listed at $30, from when Target put the last one on clearance.

Now that we know it exists, we’ll be watching the listing closely. Now might be a good reminder to follow our social media channels, as those are the first places we’ll be notifying when the 3-pack is finally in stock. Happy shopping!

SDCC 2015: The Nominees for the Hasbro Star Wars Black Series Fan Choice are…

Star Wars Black Series Fans Choice Poll finalists

Thanks for participating in nominating the seven finalists in Hasbro’s first Fan Choice for Star Wars: Black Series. We were told there’d be six, but I’m guessing the results for the nominations were too close to call.

They are: Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi (A New Hope), Lando Calrissian (The Empire Strikes Back), Darth Revan (Knights of the Old Republic), Sabine Wren (Star Wars Rebels), Gamorrean Guard (Return of the Jedi), Snowtrooper (The Empire Strikes Back), and General Grievous (Revenge of the Sith). It’s a very nice representation across the movies, video games, and animated series.

Vote for the Fan Choice for Star Wars: the Black Series on StarWars.com! Poll closes on July 10, when results are announced at San Diego Comic-Con. Who is your pick? (I’m going with Lando.)

SDCC 2015: Toys R Us Hosts Exclusives from Bandai, Hasbro, Mattel and More

SDCC 2015 Toys R Us Exclusives - Star Wars, Batgirl, and Power Rangers

Toy R Us is renewing its attempt to woo collectors by establishing a “Collector Vector” shop within both its traditional and online stores, and participating in San Diego Comic-Con with ten exclusives from a variety of toy manufacturers. While I’m doing fewer traditional toy runs now, I’ve been to my local TRU recently and have not noticed any change – but online they’ve established a Collector Vector search grouping that currently includes over 200 products and a landing page for their Con exclusives.

While I think TRU will continue to struggle to differentiate itself with collectors, the Con exclusives will help drive some traffic their way. The list includes the Yvonne Craig Batgirl from the ’60s Batman show (thankfully individually-carded and not in a 3-pack with Batman and Robin), a Star Wars Black Series Rancor set in the 3.75-inch scale, a Power Rangers exclusive, and more. They’ll be available at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343) at the show and online at Toysrus.com/ComicConvention from Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12, while supplies last, of course.

It’s an impressive list of exclusives – TRU may be on the decline, but they still have some sway with the toy companies.

Hasbro Launches “Pulse” – Subscribe for an Insider’s Look at its Collector Brands

Hasbro Pulse launch

Hasbro has been working on launching a portal for its collector-oriented brands. While it made a brief appearance on the Hasbro website around the start of the year, now Hasbro Pulse has been officially launched.

Want an insider’s look at exclusive content and the latest news on brands like Transformers, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe and Star Wars, straight from the heart of Hasbro? Then welcome to the Hasbro Pulse!

Fans will be able to sign up for Hasbro Pulse to receive brand news as it happens, plus access to special offers and more. That means that Hasbro Pulse members will be some of the first to receive new product images, epic unboxing videos, fan polls that will shape the future of their favorite lines… and even more stuff we haven’t dreamed up yet! And all of it is coming straight from the super-fans working at Hasbro, created especially for their fellow fans.

The first four items include a sneak peek at G.I. JOE 2-packs, a Transformers designer look at planning for Brake-Neck and Quickslinger, a behind-the-scenes look at Stephen Hayford’s Star Wars Black Series photography for Celebration VII, and an extremely cool video about the making of the pop-up book My Little Pony: Castles of Equestria.

Right now, Pulse does not have articles for Hasbro’s Marvel brands – but the form for joining includes Marvel as a choice for what you want covered. So be sure to sign up for Hasbro Pulse and show support for Marvel! Hopefully we’ll see new content from San Diego Comic-Con.
