Diamond Select Toys Avengers Movie – Marvel Select Hulk and Minimates

You might think that the price point on the Hot Toys Avengers movie figures is a little too rich for your blood. Or maybe you want something to satisfy that Avengers craving *today*. If so, DST has a couple of new releases on shelves now.

I’m thinking that the Marvel Select Hulk could capture Mark Ruffalo’s likeness a little better, but I don’t really mind. This Hulk has an ab tilt and swivel, two fists, bicep swivels, and DC Universe Classics hips. Innovation is allowing DST to cram more functional points of articulation into the limit prescribed by their license. Kudos to the designers!

And if you’re looking to army build a Chitauri invasion force, Minimates might be the way to go. Might also be the only way to get a movie Maria Hill figure.

Hot Toys Avengers Movie Lineup – Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Loki, and More

It was nearly three years ago that Hot Toys secured the Marvel movie license. Arguably, their biggest success has been the Iron Man figures from the two film and counting franchise that has spawned a figure or two for each version of the armor as well as a couple of the supporting characters. But with the success of The Avengers movie that shattered domestic box office records with its $207.4MM opening last weekend, we could see a new cash cow for Hot Toys. I suppose it’s more of a life extension for the existing cash cow, as Iron Man is also part of this team.

Hasbro Marvel Press Pics – Loki’s Army and Ultimate Spider-Man

Hasbo released some press pics (the first in a while):

  • Loki’s Army 3.75 inch figure
  • Loki’s Army 3.75-INCH POWER-UP MISSION PACKS
  • 6-inch Spider-Man Ultimate Comics Spider-Man
  • Marvel Universe Spider-Man variant

With the Avengers movie just two weeks away, the embargo is lifted on revealing the otherworldy creatures that serve Loki. We first saw a 7-inch Marvel Select version of Loki’s Army at C2E2, and it’s no surprise that Hasbro would also have its own versions, one single carded and one deluxe version.

Dave Vonner told us at Hasbro’s Toy Fair Marvel Universe presentation that we’d be seeing a Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man variant in Marvel Universe this year, but we hadn’t heard that a 6-inch version was coming too. I am going to guess the 6-incher will go to the Spider-Man line, instead of Marvel Legends, unless Legends is going back to bases instead of build-a-figure parts.
