Hasbro San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Marvel Universe Galactus – Marvel.com Video

Agent_M over at Marvel blogged about opening up his advanced preview of the Hasbro San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Marvel Universe Galactus. It really does dwarf the Build-a-Figure version from way back during Toy Biz’s Marvel Legends run.

I’m glad to see that the electronics are still part of this package. It’s too bad they couldn’t find a way to get the Silver Surfer included, though. Nevertheless, this is an awesome exclusive for SDCC!

Don’t forget to get your chance at a bunch of the Hasbro Comic-Con exclusives (and more) during our Hasbro San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Pre-Show Giveaway. Day 1 here at AFP featured the Iron Man 2 Mighty Muggs figure and the Super Hero Squad 3-pack. Today, for day 2, Fwoosh has two exclusive Star Wars Comic 2-Packs, one from SDCC and the other from Star Wars Celebration V.

Mattel Releases Details on Masters of the Universe Classics and Ghostbusters Subscription Plans

The conspiracy theorists will tell you that it’s all part of a big scheme, but sandwiched between Tuesday’s four minute sellout of the Masters of the Universe Classics Orko pre-order for San Diego Comic-Con goers and today’s sale day that includes the MOTUC Count Marzo (and the DC Universe Classics Wave 13 set), Mattel has announced details of its subscription plans for 2011 that will allow you to avoid all of the online ordering woes.

And good news for Ghostbusters fans – there’s a new sub plan for you, too – Club Ecto-1. If you happen to collect both lines, you’ll save on shipping.

Personally, I’ll have to see what’s announced for Ghostbusters at the Mattel panel at San Diego Comic-Con, as I’m not sure I want to be all-in on Ghostbusters. I have decided already that I’m all-in for Club Eternia. The subs go on sale on Wednesday 7/21, coinciding with the start of San Diego Comic-Con. The Mattel panel is on Friday, 7/23.

ToyFare 157 On Sale Today

At the end of last week we had a preview of what was to appear in Toyfare #157, the San Diego Comic-Con pre-show issue, and that issue is on news stands today.

I think the editorial staff at Toyfare is trying to dominate the search engine results for “WORLD PREMIERE” and “WORLD PREMIERING” – there’s going to be a lot to see in this issue, including a new 12-inch Star Wars line from Gentle Giant that I had heard nothing about before today. Cool!

Mattel SDCC Panel Fan Vote – Will Swiftwind be pink or white?

I missed this from last week, but it looks like Mattel is taking the fan vote that they did during their San Diego Comic-Con panel last year (for whether Panthor should be flocked) and making it an annual event. This year, we’ll be voting on the color of Swiftwind for the Masters of the Universe Classics line. Let’s see what our own informal vote would yield:

She-Ra’s trusted steed should be on its way to us in late 2011. Based on the timing, I would have expected Panthor late this year, but perhaps he’ll be coming in early 2011. And yes, he’ll be unflocked.

Will Swiftwind be pink or white?

You are voting on the classic pink Swiftwind toy vs. the classics Royal Swiftwind toy as pictured above. Not the animated TV series look.

McFarlane Announces San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Halo Reach Figure

Here’s another SDCC exclusive available at the Entertainment Earth booth – from the new Halo Reach line from McFarlane.

SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON EXCLUSIVE ‘HALO: REACH’ FIGURE ANNOUNCED

‘Noble Seven’ Leads the Charge This July

McFarlane Toys and Toys ‘R’ Us team up to bring you “Noble Seven,” the first action figure available from the upcoming video game Halo®: Reach.

This fall, players will get the chance to join Noble Team and fight alongside the core members as Noble Six. Today, we’d like to introduce a new member of the team: “Noble Seven.”

No, Bungie hasn’t added a new Spartan to Noble Team — but they did help us create a unique figure for San Diego Comic Con 2010.

“Noble Seven” comes complete with an assault rifle, frag grenade, custom armor loadout, and studio-inspired paint job, designed by a team of artists from inside Bungie Studios’ top secret lair. This five-inch, fully-posable, limited-edition action figure will be available at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343), during San Diego Comic-Con, July 22-25, 2010.

Don’t miss your chance to get your “Noble Seven” figure signed by Todd McFarlane — Friday, July 23 from 5 to 6:30PM at the Entertainment Earth Booth (#2343).

Be sure to check out the rest of McFarlane Toys’ Halo: Reach action figures and vehicles, arriving in stores everywhere this September.
