DC Universe Classics Wave 15 Lineup Revealed?

There’s been a lot of speculation on who will be included in DC Universe Classics Wave 15. With wave 13 shipping (see Buzzy’s awesome DC Universe Classics Wave 13 review) and wave 14 going exclusively to Wal-Mart, it feels like we’re due for a reveal soon. Today, AFP reader Bruno emailed me with an interesting tidbit – CmdStore and their retail arm, Toys on Fire, have listed the wave 15 figures individually:

  • Martian Manhunter – normal head and alien head variants
  • Starman – modern and vintage variants
  • Jemm
  • Omac
  • Batman (Sinestro Corps)
  • Golden Pharaoh
  • Raven (Fan’s Choice)

From the listings, I’d guess that Martian Manhunters would be split 70/30 and Starmen 50/50, since there’s an assortment that includes both Starman variants and a random Manhunter. I checked the AFP sponsors, Big Bad Toy Store and Enchanted Toy Chest – they have both still not revealed the individual figures in the assortment. But there was an interesting tidbit on the Corner Store Comics listing – that images would be revealed tomorrow, May 15.

As this wave has yet to be officially revealed by Mattel, I’d take this lineup with a boulder-sized grain of salt. If the listing is accurate, perhaps CmdStore was able to reveal it because they’re based in Canada. And even so, we’re still in the dark as far as the Collect and Connect figure for the wave.  Any guesses?

Big thanks to Bruno for the tip.

ToyFare 155 on News Stands Today

We got a preview yesterday when a subscriber with an early copy told us about a Marvel Universe Galactus exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con, and it sounds like today’s issue of ToyFare will include info on SDCC exclusives the other big guns.

ToyFare #155: In stores now!

Get thee to the comic shop! ToyFare #155 is out today, and inside its pages you’ll find:

  • A look at Hasbro’s sure-to-be-hot San Diego Comic-Con exclusives: not only our cover boys Ultimate WWII Captain America and Ages of Thunder Thor (which are awesome), but the world premiere of a never-before-seen exclusive! Hint: World’s Biggest Blister Card.
  • An interview with Avengers group editor Tom Brevoort on all things Avengers in this new Heroic Age of Marvel Comics, and his own youth as a proto-toy customizer.
  • Our other cover boy, Jonah Hex from NECA, kicks off our look at the rest of this summer’s coolest movies, now that Iron Man has come. From Expendables to Scott Pilgrim, there’s no way this summer is not going to kick ass.
  • Speaking of Jonah, what are the greatest cowboy toys? And how many of them were random cowboys slapped down into a non-cowboy-related ’80s line?
  • In Twisted ToyFare Theatre, the Manly Men of Action wrap up their Avatar-esque war against James Cameron and his Na’vi in “Lights, Cameron, Action!” Part 2!
  • All this, plus a look amazing SDCC exclusives from Mattel, Sideshow and DST, awesome new UFC figures from Jakks, Big Shots, Market Watch and more!

Oh, and if you haven’t caught up with Battlestar by now, there’s a major spoiler on page 39. Beware! Just a public service announcement from your friendly friends at ToyFare!

More Masters of the Universe Classics Tytus Pics

If you’re still wondering about the size of the Masters of the Universe Classics Tytus after Fwoosh’s First Look, SCB shared some pics of a Tytus he was able to procure early. Tytus goes on sale at MattyCollector.com next Monday.

Got an early Tytus today. Figure looks great, most notably the head and armor which clearly are done by the Horsemen. The head resembles King Grayskull. The articulation is pretty bad. All he’s good for is literally standing and looking big. Mine didn’t come with the pooper scooper weapon, which is fine as I never liked it. Worst MOTUC figure quality wise, but I still like him.

Toyfare 155 to Feature New Marvel Universe Galactus San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive

Marvel Universe Masterworks Galactus Package 3 (1024x768).jpg
Retail packaging for the MU Galactus - pick up Toyfare #155 to see the new SDCC packaging

Toyfare #155 hits news stands tomorrow. A subscriber who got his issue early sent along the tidbit that Hasbro reveals a special exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con – a blister-carded version of the Masterworks Galactus that was teased at SDCC last year and revealed in its retail packaging at Toy Fair this year.

Like the other Marvel Universe exclusives for SDCC this year, the Galactus packaging will feature artwork by Joe Quesada, and will come in a case with handle to make lugging him around the show floor that much easier. I didn’t get the scoop if this version will include electronics, but I’m guessing it will. I also don’t know if it will include the Silver Surfer, but I’m guessing it will not.

And for those of you wondering if this means no retail release, my understanding is that Galactus will still find his way to retail as planned, featuring the Mike Deodato packaging shown above.

For more pics of Galactus, check out our Hasbro Marvel Universe report from Toy Fair, and pick up your copy of Toyfare #155 tomorrow at your local comic book store!
