Marvel Legends Agent Venom Finds its Legs as Walgreens Exclusive

Hasbro continues to find ways to bring the Marvel Legends that have yet to find shelf space because of the switch to movie-themed waves this year (see the previous announcement of another wave of Previews exclusive X-Men Legends.)

With this announcement, they’ve revealed that the Flash Thompson Agent Venom will be a Walgreens exclusive. Not sure how pre-ordering at SDCC will work, but we’ll find out.

We are excited to confirm that Hasbro’s Marvel Spider-Man Legends Infinite 6″ Agent Venom Action Figure, previously revealed at Comic-Con International in San Diego last Summer, will be made available this Fall, exclusively at Walgreens in the U.S.

This figure will be available for pre-order next month at SDCC. Fans should visit Hasbro’s display booth during the show for more information.

Four Days to Help October Toys’ Skeleton Warriors Kickstarter Hit Funding Target

With two other action figure campaigns running in parallel on Kickstarter, the Skeleton Warriors project by October Toys needs your help. With four days remaining in its campaign, they are about $14K and change away from hitting their $45K target. With Kickstarter projects, it’s all or nothing – if you don’t get enough pledges to hit your funding goal, the project does not move forward.

In case this is your first time hearing about the Skeleton Warriors, the proposed toys are a revival of the Skeleton Warriors cartoon from 20 years ago. The figures will be 3.75-inch scaled, the first of which will be super-tall Baron Dark, the skeleton big bad at 5-inches tall. The figures are Glyos-compatible, and there’s also special reward tiers that include an exclusive “Skeleden” – part skeleton, part Pheyden – designed by Matt Doughty of Onell Design.

The other two campaigns, Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. by Boss Fight Studio and Legends of Cthulhu by Warpo, have both surpassed their funding targets and are working on hitting stretch goals. So give October Toys a kick and let’s make it a trifecta for action figure projects on Kickstarter!

Warpo Toys’ Legends of Cthulhu Kickstarter Campaign Funded In 3 Days

Warpo Toys is off to a strong start with their Legends of Cthulhu Kickstarter campaign. They’ve surpassed their funding target and first stretch goal, for a translucent “conjured” Cthulhu which will be exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign.

At over $80K pledged so far, they’re close to reaching their second stretch, which unlocks at $90K funding.

DCUC Fire and Ice Headline Mattycollector June Early Access; MOTUC Extendar On Sale Monday

Mattycollector June 2014 Sale

Early Access for Mattycollector’s June sale should be underway now, and if all goes according to plan they should have all product with the exclusion of the Club Eternia monthly figure, the Masters of the Universe Classics Extendar, available to subscribers. This would include the DC Universe Classics Fire and Ice and the DC Total Heroes deluxe Black Manta – although all three are labeled simply “DCU” – perhaps encourage collector adoption of the new Total Heroes line.

Ice is the quarterly Classics figure remaining from the Club Infinite Earths sub that didn’t meet the thresholds this year, and is smartly paired with Fire, who was the DC figure for August last year. It’s good news for subscribers – in March, hook-handed Aquaman was not available during Early Access and was a quick sell-out during All Access. I’ll be surprised if Ice remains in stock after Early Access – All Access for June opens Monday, June 16, at 9AM PST.

Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Kickstarter Surpasses Funding Target; Hits First Stretch Goal

While we’re on the subject of Kickstarter projects for action figures, Boss Fight Studio’s Vitruvian HACKS blew past their funding target of $75K just a couple of days into their campaign. Shortly thereafter, they achieved their first stretch goal for a pre-curse Medusa – before she got turned into a half-snake Gorgon. I figure this will be a popular add-on figure. She’s got legs! She knows how to use them!

The campaign is just over a week old, and it’s approaching the second stretch goal. This one is for two “wave 2” figures – an Athenian Warrior and a Green Snake Gorgon. If you haven’t pledged yet, you could help push HACKS past the next milestone of $105K – well within reach.
