Amazon Cyber Monday Deals Week continues with another toy deal today – Hasbro’s Vintage Collection Star Wars Slave I, Boba Fett’s ship that was rereleased as an Amazon exclusive. Regularly $69.99, this deal has it for $41.99 until 1PM PST, or while supplies last.

Are you a MOC collector? Amazon has been knocked for not properly packing the Slave I, but supposedly this has been corrected with an extra shipping box. No disintegrations? As you wish.

Slave I – Boba Fett’s Spaceship

Re-enact some of the coolest adventures in the epic film The Empire Strikes Back with this incredible Slave I Boba Fett’s Spaceship vehicle! Put a figure (sold separately) in the swiveling cockpit and load the vehicle’s missiles and bombs. Then pivot its wings for takeoff and send the ship into battle! When enemies attack, rotate the cannon to fire at them, then release the bombs on them! Put the included Han Solo in Carbonite figure in the detention cell or the cargo bay for a mission to collect a bounty. Four Horsemen Explain Size Issues with Kickstarter Gothitropolis Ravens

The Four Horsemen have provided a couple of updates on the size issue they revealed when they shared pics of rough samples of their Kickstarter-funded Gothitropolis Ravens. Apparently, the cause was some lack of clarity on how the figures are intended to mimic actual bird anatomy. The Horsemen had provided height specifications for the figures based on how real birds stand – with legs bent. The factory produced the first samples with the legs fully extended – so when the legs were bent as intended, the size issue comes into play.

The good news is that the factory has already re-sized the figures. But the flip side is that some clean-up is required on the details on the new ones. The Ravens were originally estimated to be delivered in the March timeframe. There will almost certainly be some delay because of the size issue, but the Horsemen have not yet provided guidance on that. I’m happy to wait for a better quality product – I know they will deliver.

Toynami Celebrates Online Shop Opening and Cyber Monday with Free Shipping Deal

Toynami recently opened the Toynami Shop, their online store. And low and behold, it’s stocked with exclusives from San Diego Comic Con and Comikaze. I can tell you, if I’d known these items would be available online way after the shows were over, it would have saved my wife some stress. She is nuts over the Sanrio / Street Fighter plush mashups, and braved the insane lines at SDCC for the Badtz Ryu exclusive. Then when we figured out we couldn’t make it to Comikaze, we had to figure out a way to get our hands on the Hello Kitty Blanka. I also heard that a lot of Futurama fans were unable to get the hook-up at SDCC for the Gender Bender set.

So, if you missed out, get them now! Need your arm twisted? For Cyber Monday, Toynami is offering free shipping on all orders until December 6.

Hot Toys Reveals Dynamic Figure Stand – for Asian Market Only?

Hot Toys also recently announced a new add-on stand that will be available separately from its figures. So far I’ve only seen unofficial info that the Dynamic Figure Stand will be available at Toy Hunters and Secret Base – Hot Toys’ official retail locations in Hong Kong. The rumored price, again unofficial, puts these stands at 190 HKD, or around $24 and change for us.

I would hope a more bare bones alternative would get made for less, and I’m wondering why we haven’t seen this kind of stand for 6-inch figures. They seem like they’d be more durable than the ones we get with plastic arms and hinges, since they often become loose.

Hot Toys Reveals Avengers Bruce Banner – Hulk Smash Puny Banner!

While I’ve got Hulk on my mind, I’d be remiss if I didn’t highlight the recent reveals by Hot Toys for their Avengers Bruce Banner figure. We first saw puny Banner in a shawarma diorama at SGTCC. At the time I thought Hot Toys was cruel for making a custom we could never get ourselves. Now I find myself in a quandary – I don’t have a Tony Stark figure. And Hot Toys hasn’t made a Steve Rogers figure. So do I get Banner? In fact, there’s two options. One is Banner by himself, while the other includes the really awesome Hulk figure, I think with some additional “set pieces” to liven up your display.
