Mattycollector Early Access for April Open Now; All Access for MOTUC Blade Tomorrow

Mattycollector April 2014 Sale

If you’re a Club Eternia subscriber, Early Access for April is now open. Most months there’s not much more available than what you’re getting in your sub, besides some re-releases of older Masters of the Universe Classics and inventory clearing of the remaining DC Universe Classics stock. However, this month, subscribers get a shot at Loo-Kee and Kowl (the chase figures that will pop up from time to time like the Spirit of Hordak did last year) and Goat Man (the figure for the “other” conventions this year).

Those figures won’t be part of the All Access sale starting tomorrow at 9AM PST, but in addition to the Club Eternia Masters of the Universe Classics Blade, they’ve got Batros and Strong-Or from Club Filmation, a new mini pack with Skeletor and Moss Man, and the remaining Wally West Flash figures from DC Universe Classics.

Last Chance to Subscribe to Mattycollector Club Etheria Today

The pre-order window for the Club Etheria mini-subscription closes today. Like last year’s Club Filmation, Club Etheria will include six figures and a club exclusive (the translucent Light Hope) to be shipped in the second half of this year. Take note that last year, not all the individual figures had availability for day-of sales – so the safe bet is to subscribe.

Although she is not part of the Club Etheria subscription, She-Ra is available separately as a Collection Essentials figure.

LightHope_EtheriaSubClub Etheria™ Subscription Closes 3/10

Here’s your friendly reminder that the order period for the limited-subscription Club Etheria™ ends on 3/10 at 11:59PM PT! Don’t miss out on your chance to celebrate the 30th anniversary of She-Ra® with six new figures from the vintage line and the Filmation series.

The collection-essential series includes Double Mischief™ July, Madam Razz™ & Broom August, and Entrapta™ September, plus three more to be announced. And remember, only members of Club Etheria™ will receive the club-exclusive figure Light Hope™, as well as Early Access and your choice of monthly or quarterly shipping options. Icon Heroes Reveals Snake Mountain Polystone Environment Statue

Icon Heroes Masters of the Universe Snake Mountain 01

As much as fans are enjoying their Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull playsets from Mattel, it’s unlikely that they will produce a companion Snake Mountain. That’s where Icon Heroes comes in – they created a Snake Mountain as a polystone statue. While not in scale with MOTUC, it could still serve as a backdrop or just a unique item for your collection. And of course, Icon Heroes also made Castle Grayskull plus an awesome accessory kit.

The Icon Heroes Snake Mountain will sell for $299.99 and ship in 4Q this year.

Mattel Missing the Mark with Epic Creations?

Movie Masters™ Epic Creations™ DC Classic TV Series Batman™ Utility Belt Movie Masters™ Epic Creations™ Ghostbusters™ Neutrino Wand

Maybe I’ve been conditioned over the years by quick sell-outs, but it was still somewhat of a shock to check in on the Mattycollector December sale to find that the big three Epic Creations items, the Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull, and the prop replicas for the Batman Utility Belt and the Ghostbusters Neutrino Wand, are all still in stock. None of the three are even at the point where they’ve got the special tags indicating they’re “Almost Gone.” This is particularly surprising for the Castle – from the point of pre-order through the pre-hype for this sale, Mattel has consistently said that they’d have just a very limited amount of Castles for day-of sales.

If we don’t see this change in the short term, here’s what I’ve reasoned could be behind the slower than expected sales.
