Today we’re doing a very late pic review of the Masters of the Universe Classics Keldor. Yes, it took me a while to get to him, and everyone else has already posted their Keldor reviews, but no matter. Here we go!

DC Universe Classics Undersea Assault Two-Pack Quick Pics
I wasn’t going to buy this set but I stopped in the only DC Universe Classics stocking Wal-Mart a couple days ago and discovered that, due a reset of the Toy Department, all of the DCUC stock had been moved to a clearance aisle and for $15, I couldn’t pass it up. Overall the quality of the set is very good. Manta’s gun was slightly bent up and Aquaman’s right leg was a little warped at the knee joint (easily fixed with a session under the hair dryer and cold water tap) but otherwise they are well made with no problems or defects.

Some Favorite Masters of the Universe Keldor Reviews
We’ll get to our own review of Keldor eventually – I’m looking at you, Sandman! – but in the meantime, we can’t deny his awesomeness. Here’s a handful of reviews from some of our favorite sites.
 Poe Ghostal’s Points of Articulation
It’s funny how Mattel has twice managed to make a Skeletor figure with the head of a casino magician not only desirable, but a fun toy to own. Once I got my Keldor I opened him, fiddled around with him, posed him on the coffee table, and said to Dr. Mrs. Ghostal, “Y’know, I really like him.” There are definitely MOTUC figures I didn’t feel that way about (no offense, your Majesty), but Keldor is not one of them. The relative lack of new tooling, particularly in regard to the swords, costs Keldor a raven. I’ve had mixed feelings about Keldor ever since he debuted back in February. It had little to do with the figure itself. I was glad to have Keldor in the line; it’s the swords that got under my collar. I’m not a big fan of the half swords in the toy line and Mattel’s different attempts at explaining why they couldn’t do a classicized version of the evil 200x swords were largely unsatisfactory. I think that took away from the buildup for this figure in my eyes. Instead of getting everybody’s favorite villain before that unfortunate date with a vial of acid, I felt we were getting a figure with bad accessories. I’ll still rant a bit in the accessories section, but Keldor ended up with nice representation in the Classics line despite that drawback. |

Keldor has never really been a must have character or variant in my book, but Mattel has managed to do enough here to make the figure interesting enough to me to display. I’m not quite sure where I’ll put him on the shelf, though. There are a couple of obvious (to me) accessories not included and the power swords could be better, but those factors do not detract too much from the final figure. |
Masters of the Universe Classics She-Ra
If you’re a child of the 80’s, you most likely know She-Ra. Aside from Wonder Woman, She-Ra was one of the popular heroines of that time, and although I didn’t have any of the toys, me and my brother did watch She-Ra when we were kids. Hey, she’s He-Man’s sister, and she was strong, beautiful, and she kicked butt! What’s not to like?
She-Ra makes a comeback to toys through the Master of the Universe Classics line, and if you were online at Mattycollector.com on June 15, you know even with the increased production, She-Ra still sold out pretty quickly. So why am I reviewing her when she’s sold out? Well, because we love pics and we love to talk toys here at AFP, and I have no doubt that if you missed out on her, she will be re-issued again in the future. And well, there’s also eBay.
Mattel Ghostbusters Peter Venkman Quick Pics
With the MattyCollector.com sale this month, fans had the opportunity to complete their 6-inch collections of the four core Ghostbusters with Peter Venkman. It’s been a long wait since Egon Spengler first became available at San Diego Comic-Con last year and we saw production samples of Venkman at C2E2.
