Weekend Toy Run: Funko Legacy Game of Thrones on Sale – Today Only

Funko Legacy Game of Thrones 1-day sale

Are you ready for the Game of Thrones season 5 premiere this weekend? Entertainment Earth wants to make sure, offering 15% off of the Funko Legacy Game of Thrones figures, just for today. There’s eleven figures on sale, including all but the Hound from wave 1, so it’s a great time to fill those missing gaps in your collection. Most of the figures are armored up and ready to fight. As usual, poor Ned Stark is one of the exceptions – this guy just can’t catch a break.

[Update: @abuddah tweeted that most of the Game of Thrones figures are cheaper on Amazon. Thanks, Andy!]

Of course, if you need someone to push around Arya Stark or get thrashed by Brienne of Tarth, you can pick up the Hound at Amazon. And if you’re a full-on completionist, you can pick up the exclusive SDCC glow-in-the-dark White Walker from last year and the exclusive Walgreens Tyrion Lannister, both in the aftermarket on eBay but not that pricey. Valar morghulis, and happy shopping!

Note: Our email digests are sent out once a day (we don’t want to clog your inbox when we post more than that), and some subscribers can miss out on these one day only sales. Please consider following AFP on Facebook, Google+, and Twitter for instant updates. Happy shopping!

ThreeZero Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister Quick Pics

3ZeroTyrLan 017

Wow, it’s been a while and I’m glad to be back! To kick off my return to AFP, I’ve got some Quick Pics of the new ThreeZero Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister.

But first I’ve got to give a big “Thanks!” to my girlfriend’s son, Brendan (a RABID Game of Thrones fan and action figure connoisseur), for letting me shoot these photos of Tyrion.

Some Good Deals at TFAW’s Gray Days of November Sale

There’s almost 500 action figures on sale during TFAW’s Gray Days of November Sale, which is on right now. I’ve found prices there start a bit high to begin with, so it takes some exceptional discounts to make it a good deal. So you may not find the prices that you’re looking for in their Hasbro (with Star Wars and G.I. JOEs as the bulk of the items) or Mattel DC sections, but look through and you will come across some gems.

For example, the excellent Ultraman, Power Ring, and Superwoman Crime Syndicate figures from DC Collectibles are under $13 each, and the Danaerys and Ned Stark Game of Thrones figures from Funko are under $14 each. I just did a quick run through, so there’s probably more deals worth pursuing that I missed. Happy shopping!

Threezero Toys Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister Available to Pre-Order Now

If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you were probably going through some withdrawal as HBO didn’t air a new episode this past Memorial Day weekend. You can get your fix by pre-ordering the 1/6 scale Tyrion Lannister from Threezero, which is available to pre-order now. The sister company of ThreeA Toys (or maybe “big brother” is more apt) had been somewhat quiet until its recent foray into licensed product, forging collaborations with Bandai and AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Tyrion stands under 9-inches short and is available for $130, inclusive of shipping. Accessories include 2 pairs of hands, a goblet, and a book. I’d have liked to see a second outfit for the Battle of the Blackwater, but I suppose that might be a bit ambitious for a first figure in a new line. Threezero’s previous pre-order was up for a month, but no knowing how long Tyrion will be available.

Toy Fair 2014: Funko Announces Game of Thrones Legacy

Funko Game of Thrones Legacy - Tyrion Lannister

Sandman has been raving to me about Funko’s Game of Thrones Legacy figures. Apparently, Funko held back the official announcement for the line to land just in advance of the release of Season 3 of Game of Thrones on DVD (Tuesday, February 18) and Toy Fair this weekend – however, the announcement did not beat the figures to stores. Apparently, large wooden ships carrying the first assortment of action figures has already laid siege to Barnes and Noble, where you can find the first wave exclusively until it hits more broadly at retail in early March.

The figures look awesome and have some great articulation (we need to convince Sandman to take some pics) – no doubt thanks to Gentle Giant, the design studio that seems to be behind almost everything super-articulated and super-realistic these days. Early reports are that you should be careful with the joints, however, as there’s some brittle clear PVC that tends to break. Hopefully that gets addressed as production continues. We’ll be looking for coverage of the second wave, so stay tuned for more Game of Thrones.
