Have You Pre-Ordered Your Scarabus Sets?

I’ve been pretty busy with my day job (as evidenced by the relative lack of updates here) but not too busy to put in my order for Scarabus at the Store Horsemen site (which has a new URL: http://www.shopfourhorsemen.com/). I knew I wasn’t going to have room for the awesome Scarabus 10-pack, but I did want to get all of the Egyptian-themed variants, which the Four Horsemen made available for pre-order as the Dark Deities set.

Fantastic Exclusive Gothitropolis Scarabus 10-Pack on Sale 3/1

I really dig what the Four Horsemen have done with the Fantastic Exclusive Gothitropolis Scarabus figures, but I am going to have to mull it over if I am going to pick up a 10-pack. I like all the variants, especially the different paint schemes the Horsemen have come up with, but to be honest I don’t know what I’d do with them all – I just don’t have the shelf space.

I think you’ll be very pleased if you decide to go for the big box – all of those guys standing together would look extremely cool.

Scarabus figure 10-packs will go up for pre-order this coming Tuesday night (March 1st, 2011) at 9:00pm EST at the Four Horsemen’s online retail outlet – Store Horsemen.

Each Scarabus 10-pack contains one of each of the Scarabus variants, including Scarabus himself, (see images below) as well as a free Four Horsemen poster/print signed by the Four Horsemen!

While the upcoming Scarabus three-packs, two-packs & singles will be priced so that each figure will be $30.00 each, and will be spaced out in monthly pre-order releases to help your wallet as much as possible, if you pre-order the Scarabus 10-pack, you’ll be able to save on both cost and shipping!

In the 10-pack, you’ll get all 10 figures and the poster/print for only $275.00 (plus shipping & handling)!! That’s only $27.50 per figurea $25.00 total savings!! Plus, you’ll be saving on shipping charges by having them all shipped to you in one box as well!

Also, pre-ordered 10-packs will also be shipped out to our customers before any of the other upcoming multi-packs or singles. You’ll have Scarabus and all of his variant forms & minions before anyone else in your neighborhood!

Please be aware that this is a pre-order, but the figures are currently in production and we expect them to arrive in our warehouse by early June, if not sooner.

Toy Fair 2011 – Gothitropolis Dark and Light Talisman Scarabus Exclusive Packaged Pics

Since it’s an industry show, Toy Fair typically isn’t a time that you’d normally be picking up new action figures for your collection – it’s the time you’ll be seeing and hearing about the toys that you will be picking up later in the year.

But at Toypocalypse, the Four Horsemen have made available 100 sets of an exclusive Dark and Light variant set of their upcoming Gothitropolis Scarabus figure. They’re available for $50 each (so, $100 for a set of the black and white figures), and come in resealable packaging. I didn’t get the chance to find out what will be different about the 100 sets that will be available through storehorsemen.com after the show, but one thing that got my attention on the sets from the show are the black and white scarabs on the front of the package.

I haven’t been able to bring myself to open them yet. I mean – right now they’re so pristine! I’ll need some convincing… Leave a comment below.

What an awesome way to start off Toy Fair – with Toypocalypse, an art show held at Toy Tokyo, featuring 10 years of action figure goodness from the Four Horsemen. The show opened tonight and will run through next Thursday, but I felt compelled to go tonight, before the craziness of Toy Fair began.

The show space was packed full of 4H fans – but the really overwhelming part was just seeing all the toys that the 4H have had a big hand in getting to our shelves. One section of the show space was dedicated to a “making of” section for the next figure that will be gracing our shelves – the Fantastic Exclusive Gothitropolis Scarabus.

Fantastic Exclusive Gothitropolis Scarabus Paint Sample Recap

We just got the first Scarabus paint sample in the other day, and we’re so excited about it we couldn’t wait to share it with you!
There are a couple of minor paint tweaks to be taken care of, but for their first pass we’re extremely impressed!

I was hoping for more Scarabus shots from the Four Horsemen for a their Four Horsemen Fridays feature, but I’m guessing they’re very busy getting ready for their Toypocalypse show, which starts this upcoming Friday.

I believe the last shot in this set is of a painted 2-up prototype that they used in a recent photo shoot. It’s pretty cool to see how the smaller figure is matching up with its 2-up. I always expect the production figures to be a downgrade in quality – I haven’t seen that with Scarabus, so the bar is set pretty high.

More shots to come in the next couple of days with some of the alternate parts in place, but for today here are a few front and rear shots of Scarabus in his basic form, along with one of his little Time Keeper buddies sporting his new Time Keeper War Armor!
