Woot Marvel Comic Book Canvas Art Sale

If you’re a fan of Marvel Comics and are looking for something to class up your man cave, then this sale at Woot is for you. The Marvel Comic Book Canvas Art Sale features your favorite Marvel heroes and villains depicted in classic covers or comic book panels – but printed on canvas versus shoddy poster paper. You’ll have to hang them up using real hardware, not push pins, but that’s what lets you claim them as actual art!

They come in two sizes:

  • 18″ x 26″ x 0.75″ comic book dimensions for $59.99 (63% off List Price of $159.98)

ThreeA Toys Invincible Iron Man Planned for Pre-Order in Mid-February

ThreeA Toys Invincible Iron Man

It’s been almost a year since 3A Toys announced that they would be collaborating with Marvel on a line of re-imagined Marvel heroes and villains. Since then we’ve seen some teaser pics for Iron Man with an initial plan to put him up for pre-order in December last year – that obviously passed, likely due to the approval process with Marvel. Looks like the pre-order is right around the corner, in the first couple of weeks of February.

The Invincible Iron Man is in 1/6 scale. He’s fully articulated – normally exposed joints (like in the elbows and knees) are hidden by soft PVC. LEDs will light up his eyes and his ARC reactor. Available individually or in a four-pack, 3A has not yet shared any info on pricing. Hopefully the Marvel licensing fees don’t push the prices up too much.

Q: You are probably asked a lot…but what about Iron Man and when we might see it at Bamba?

A: Well first week of Feb is Bambastark week, or around then, but its REALLY CLOSE, there are four variants, Classic, Silver Centurian, Stark Industries Prototype and the Stealth! Prototype is 3AA only as a single, or available in the mega 4 pack display box edition.

Hot Toys Reveals Iron Man 3 Starboost Mark XXXIX

Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Starboost Mark XXXIX 01

I love me some Hot Toys, but that House Party Protocol finale in Iron Man 3 is a double-edged sword. It’s very cool to have so many armors to make, but unless you’ve got Tony Stark’s bank, you won’t be able to Pokemon them all. I’ll be doing an Iron Man movie marathon pretty soon (the rules – no bathroom breaks – not as challenging as the Lord of the Rings marathon) so I’ll be checking out the scene for all the armors that I missed. Starboost is one of them.

You can pre-order the Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Starboost figure at Sideshow Collectibles. It’s got LED lights for the eyes, ARC reactor, and back thruster pack, plus the usual set of interchangeable hands. Yours for $269, arriving November this year. Not that I’ll ever tire of seeing new Iron Man armors, but hopefully by then we’ll see some figures from the next Marvel franchise – Guardians of the Galaxy. My X-Mas Wish – Hasbro, Make a Marvel Legends Squirrel Girl Already!

This holiday season, I’ve found myself playing a fair amount of Marvel Heroes, the action RPG from Gazillion Entertainment. I was a big fan of the earlier Diablo games (not so much Diablo 3), and the team behind the first two games drove the development of this one. As such, the game may look a bit “classic” but the non-stop action coupled with the Marvel lore makes it a very fun experience.

Before I started playing, I wondered about what it would be like, since as a player, you are limited to choosing from the roster of Marvel heroes in the game (versus designing your own hero, like in many other RPGs). But with a steady release of new playable characters, it’s not all a bunch of Wolverines running around. Which brings me to my point – of *all* the playable characters (and a fair amount of villains in the game), there’s only one who doesn’t have an accompanying action figure in Marvel Legends – Squirrel Girl. It’s time for Hasbro to step up to the plate and make her!

Free Marvel Minimates Iron Man Offer with Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United?

Heroes United Minimates Offer Iron Man and Hulk Heroes United

The Marvel.com website has an offer for a free (you pay $2.59 shipping and handling) Iron Man Minimate – and while I couldn’t find where to get the promo code for it, presumably it will come with the Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United movie that is available today on Blu-Ray and DVD.

For another $9.99, you can also pick up 2 more Marvel Minimates – Hulk in the Iron Man armor that he’ll somehow get to wear in the movie, and the Hulk-Buster Iron Man that is cool and will likely fight Hulk if we get the expected “first we fight, then we become friends” plot line.

Update: found it in the fine print on the offer page – movie purchase is required to get the free Iron Man Minimate.
