threeA Toys World War Robot Portable Winter Bramble

This is a guest review by Fwoosher MatthewK. This review was first published on the Fwoosh E-Zine.

The World War Robot Portable (WWRP) is a series of vinyl action figures based on the artwork of Ashley Wood. The original WWR figures were 1/6th scale figures (12inch), but this new WWRP line has robots shrunk down to the 1/12 scale familiar to fans of Marvel Legends and DC Universe Classics. I just picked up my first Bramble Frosty (The model name of the robot is Bramble and mine is painted in the ‘winter’ colorway with the nickname ‘Frosty’) from sponsor Big Bad Toy Store.

Hasbro 6-Inch Spider-Man Classics Available at ToysRUs.com

With Hasbro making the switch to 3.75-inches for its Marvel action figures, a lot of people have wondered if the 6-inch Spider-Man figures Hasbro showed at San Diego Comic-Con would make it to retail.  While I haven’t seen these in store, I did notice that the new Spidey figures, including the comic-styled 6-inch Green Goblin, are available online at ToysRUs.com.

Diamond Select Toys Reveals Two Iron Man 2 Minimates Assortments

I’m trying not to get too hyped for Iron Man 2 this summer, so I won’t be digging too deep on this reveal of five new non-Iron Man armors.  And who ever thought we’d be getting Minimates of Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan?  And is Happy holding a briefcase containing the Iron Man armor?  I wonder if that thing opens up.  Too cool.

Iron Man 2 Minimates – The Reveal!

Fans all over the world are gearing up for Marvel Studios’ next sure-fire blockbuster Iron Man 2 and at Diamond Select Toys we are excited to reveal details surrounding our previously Top Secret Iron Man 2 Minimates!  Due in stores this March, two new assortments of Minimates are sure to thrill fans of all ages!

No caption. While one particular high-flying armor-clad character will remain hidden until the March release date, we can now reveal the full contents of our upcoming Marvel Minimates Series 35 Assortment and Iron Man 2 Single Pack Minimates Display.  Rounding out the cast of Series 35 is the high-tech army builder paired with Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan – Hammer Industries’ Hammer Drone!  Glimpsed only briefly in the Iron Man 2 trailer, not much is known about the Hammer Drones – except that Iron Man and War Machine will apparently square off against an entire squad of them at some point during the film.

The biggest reveal comes in the form of our Iron Man 2 Single Pack Minimates Display, a special set of individually boxed Iron Man 2 Minimates limited to only 500 cases.  This set was under complete lockdown, however now we can reveal the full contents!

Each display will include 12 individually packaged Iron Man 2 Minimates, including:

  • Air Assault Drone
  • Ground Assault Drone
  • Sea Assault Drone
  • Tactical Assault Drone

Styled after the four branches of the US Military, exact how these high-powered armors will come to exist and what their creation means for Iron Man remains to be seen – but we can’t wait to find out!  Retailers can still order this limited set as part of their January 2010 Previews orders, so if  you want these Iron Man 2 exclusives to become a part of your collection make sure you let them know before it’s too late!

Watch Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?! Siege Promo

Another timely MSH: What The–?! short from the guys at Marvel – the Hood custom looks just like the one shown at the Hasbro booth at San Diego Comic-Con last year, and I admit I would like a figure of the Iron Patriot with an interchangeable Norman Osborne head.

Check out a short but special “Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?! ” SIEGE Promo featuring the Cabal!

With the weight of the past few months hanging over him, why has Norman Osborn gathered his Cabal of The Hood, Loki and Taskmaster together in Avengers Tower for an ominous meeting? We’re not sure, but we do know this Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?! Siege promo has nothing to do with reality and everything to do with hilarity!
