Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Test Shot Pics

The Four Horsemen sent us some pictures of their upcoming retro chic collaboration with Onell Designs, the Outer Space Men. I didn’t know anything about the Outer Space Men before the Four Horsemen announced the license – they were originally produced before I was born (but not by much). If you’re like me and want to learn more, here’s a couple of links:

  • An Outer Space Men Archive – this site was created by Mel Birnkrant, the original creator of the toy line made by Colorforms.
  • TheOuterSpaceMen.com – this is the official site for upcoming Outer Space Men products.
  • The Four Horsemen’s Outer Space Men Forum – you’ll find discussion boards and OSM info from the Four Horsemen.
  • Onell Design – these folks are the Four Horsemen’s production partners for the OSM line, and created the Glyos line of toys.
  • Poe Ghostal’s interview with Matt Doughty (Part 1 | Part 2) – Matt is the founder of Onell Design.

Good reading all around – enjoy!

Masters of the Universe Classics Gygor Preview

Masters of the Universe Classics Gygor - with Gorilla Grodd.jpg

When we saw him at Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics Toy Fair event, I know a lot of people thought that Gygor was based on the Collect & Connect Gorilla Grodd from the DC Universe Classics line. Nope – it’s a totally unique sculpt! Giant gorillas are great – I can’t wait to size Gygor up against Grodd, the Kriegaffe from the Mezco Hellboy line, and the Monkeyman BAF from the Legendary Comic Book Heroes line from Toy Biz!

First Look – DC Universe Classics SDCC 2010 Plastic Man – TheFwoosh.com

There’s been a lot of Mattel news in the past week and a half that started with the announcement that Mattel landed the Voltron license for the upcoming animated series. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out the extremely awesome first look that VeeBee posted on the Fwoosh of the upcoming DC Universe Classics Plastic Man a few days back.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not exactly a big fan of Plas – primarily because when I was first exposed to him, all I really wanted in comics was dark, brooding, angsty stuff. But I do think that this figure delivers all that it possibly could. I’ll definitely be picking him up.

Hot Toys Blade Trinity Abigail Whistler Feature – Milk Magazine

Hot Toys posted a 5-page feature from Hong Kong’s Milk Magazine on its Facebook page. It includes lots of images of the upcoming MMS Abigail Whistler from Blade Trinity that they just announced a few days ago. I’m liking the Jessica Biel likeness even more. Do you think this means we’ll eventually see a Hannibal King / Ryan Reynolds figure from Hot Toys?
