Four Horsemen Share Possible Reward Levels for Gothitropolis Ravens Kickstarter Campaign

Be sure to click through for more details on the possibilities for the Four Horsemen’s Kickstarter campaign for the Gothitropolis Ravens. I love the collected head shots for these figures and can’t wait to give this project a kick.

Four Horsemen Ravens

As many of you may have heard, in order to raise the funds to go into production on our next line of Gothitropolis characters currently just being referred to as “The Ravens”, we’re going to be doing a Kickstarter campaign. This is something we’ve never done before, but it’s something we’ve always wanted to try. As we’re gearing up for this project, we’re trying to come up with new and unique incentives to offer fans at various levels of the campaign.

Four Horsemen Tease Upcoming Gothitropolis Ravens Kickstarter Campaign

Black Raven

I’ll admit it – when I saw the Kickstarter logo next to the 2-ups for the Gothitropolis Ravens at the latest Toypocalypse, I had a bit of a toygasm. We’ve talked many times over the past few years with the Four Horsemen about when we might finally be able to add these birds to our collections – the rising labor and material costs have been the primary challenge, and they’ve therefore been focused their attentions on toy lines like the Outer Space Men, which are easier to bring to market.

Now the fun begins – figuring out if the Fwoosh can participate with an exclusive, as we did with the Seventh Kingdom elephants and the Queen and her court. What do you guys think?

Toy Fair 2013: Four Horsemen to Kickstart Fantastic Exclusive Ravens

Talked to Cornboy briefly at Toypocalypse tonight – the Four Horsemen will be launching a Kickstarter campaign to finally get the Fantastic Exclusive Ravens into our hands.

I’ve got to admit – I’m a bit of a crowdfunding fanatic, and I am regularly looking for cool projects to back on Kickstarter. So when I saw the green Kickstarter logo next to 2-ups of a new set of Ravens and variants, I was pretty enthused. In the past, the Four Horsemen were able to fund the production of the Fantastic Exclusive Seventh Kingdom and Gothitropolis figures, with a little assistance from some of the toy sites and retailers. At the Fwoosh, we were pretty excited to participate in two of those waves.

In the years that followed, though, the economics to self-fund a super-articulated line grew too onerous, and the 4H focused on smaller, less articulated figures like the Outer Space Men. But the Ravens remained near and dear to their hearts, and with the advent of crowdfunding, they believe they’ve found a way to get these made.

They showed eleven figures, including the fanboy-inspired minotaur / duck mashup, but at this point haven’t decided what will be included in the Kickstarter campaign. There’s still discussions on whether some of the variants belong in Seventh Kingdom or Gothitropolis. While some folks might have a stake in one or the other, to me it makes no difference – just get these birds made!

The Four Horsemen Ride Into El Paso Comic Con

Our pal Joe Amaro sent us pics of the Four Horsemen’s booth at El Paso Comic Con. The 4H’s Shane Dittsworth and Owen “O-Dawg” Oertling were on site. For fans of Seventh Kingdom, Gothitropolis, and the Masters of the Universe 200X line, there’s some great shots of 2-ups that I’ve been lucky to see in person – but I’ve never gotten a good look at the backs of the prototypes before, though, and there’s some great details in these shots. The El Paso Times also has some local coverage of EP-Con, including a couple of pics of O-Dawg in action.

Regarding the Manta Raider that Joe is working on with Rudy Obrero – I checked in with Joe recently and he said he’s still working on them, and will give out more details on how to get your hands on the custom vehicle when he’s 100% on the details.
