McFarlane Announces Two Deluxe Halo Sets for March 2010

Action Figures and Armor Packs Are Coming to Stores March 2010

2010 is quickly becoming a good year for Halo fans. In addition to our ongoing action figure assortments, McFarlane Toys has plenty of exciting Halo products in store for the rapidly growing video game action figure fan base.

Releasing to retailers nationwide in March of 2010, both Halo deluxe boxed sets are sure to whet Halo fans’ appetites. Featuring the debut of a fan-favorite UNSC weapon, the second Halo Wars 5-inch scale figure, plus our first nationwide release of additional white Spartan armor and the coveted Katana sword, these two deluxe boxed sets are not to be missed.

This limited edition boxed set features McFarlane Toys’ first-ever fully articulated Halo Wars Spartan figure in 5-inch scale, as well as the debut of the highly anticipated flamethrower.

Diamond Select Toys Announces Minimates Vehicles Line

Interesting announcement from DST.   I can see how the DeLorean is a natural extension for their Back to the Future Minimates.  T2 is a bigger stretch – the vehicles there weren’t as integral to the story as the DeLorean was to BTTF or the Vipers and Raiders were to Battlestar Galactica.  Minimates M.A.X. is the biggest surprise – I don’t remember the last time DST made any products for an original, unlicensed property.  Have they ever?

New Minimates Vehicle Line in 2010!

One of the most frequent questions we get from fans of our Minimates lines inquires about the possibility of Minimate vehicles from their favorite pop culture properties.  Earlier this year we launched our first foray into Mini-Vehicles with the Mark VII Viper and Cylon Raider from the hit sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica and now that we’ve tested the waters, the Mini-Vehicle line is ready to go into overdrive!

Projected for a Spring 2010 release, our debut assortment of Mini-Vehicles features some of the most iconic and memorable rides of all time combined with exclusive Minimate releases sure to thrill kids of all ages!  Each vehicle is in perfect Minimate scale for two Minimate passengers and also includes a bonus Minimate – all either new versions of your favorite characters or exclusive Minimate debuts!

The first three rides to be included in this exciting line will be Back to the Future’s post-time-travel Frozen DeLorean, Terminator 2’s devastating Battle Damaged Hunter Killer Tank and a Minimates debut – the Minimates M.A.X. Red Stealth Jet!  Fans should be familiar with those first two, while the Minimates M.A.X. (Mobile Action Xtreme) brand is new to DST and will feature an array of vehicles designed entirely by Art Asylum.

A complementary wave of Minimates Vehicles will also appear in Toys R Us stores nationwide this spring, including alternate versions of each vehicle and new Minimate pilots for each release.  Series 1 will include a time-bending DeLorean, an undamaged Hunter Killer Tank and a black version of the Minimates M.A.X. Art Asylum Announces Marvel Select Deadpool

I suppose I’m not surprised that Marvel Select is coming out with a Deadpool figure.  After all, Deadpool is starting to enter Wolverine territory, with three monthly comics, guest appearances all over the Marvel Comics universe, and his own movie in development with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I’ll have to do some more image searching but the figure looks very heavily influenced by Rob Liefeld’s early Deadpool art, especially the design of the mask and torso, but the wrist and ankle bands don’t coincide with Deadpool’s first appearance.  I am also curious as far as timing, since Hasbro has Deadpool slated for an appearance in a Fall 2010 Marvel Legends 2-pack.

Sorry kids, nothing clever to say to introduce this guy (I’ll save the witty remarks for the paint stage). Here is the newest in the Marvel Select line – Deadpool. He’ll be coming with a ton of accessories (weapons, lots of weapons) and be on the lookout for a chase variant unmasked version (which I have but I’m not showing ‘cuz I’m mean like that).

DC Universe Classics Wave 13 Retailer Pics

These pictures come from BigBadToyStore, where they have just listed pre-orders for individual figures from DC Universe Classics Wave 13 mostly for $16.99 each.  Based on how these are priced, I consider this another confirmation that the unbandaged variant of Negative Man will be a chase figure (he’s the only one listed for more at $19.99), and that the classic and modern Cheetah variants will be packed 50/50.  Fans of the modern Cheetah, unfortunately she’s already pre-sold out.
