ThreeA Toys WWR EVOL Launches with Marquis de Plume Pre-Order Today

ThreeA Toys WWR EVOL Marquis de Plume 01

The second phase of 3A Toys’ World War Robot franchise begins today, with the pre-order of the WWR EVOL Marquis de Plume. For the time-zone challenged, that takes place on Bambaland starting at 8PM EST today. The Marquis de Plume will cost $130 (includes shipping), and 3AA members will be able to pre-order an exclusive set with a Prey Box for $15 more. No official pics yet of the Prey Box, but 3A says it will be different from the one shipped as a bonus in 2013’s 3AA membership kit to folks who’ve been members since its inception.

3A will also have two Marquis de Plume t-shirts available. Price has not been revealed, but they’re typically priced like the ones you get at rock concerts – in other words, get ready to empty your wallets. As Eminem rapped – love is evil (spell it backwards). Profound.

Hulk Hogan Returns to WWE – Mattel WWE Classics Action Figure Imminent?

Hulk Hogan Returns to Monday Night Raw

It’s been over six years since he left the WWE, but Hulk Hogan is back home once again. Hulk opened up last night’s Monday Night Raw and announced he would be host of Wrestlemania XXX. (That seems so appropriate, given Hulk’s sex tape scandal.) During his absence from the WWE, the toy license switched hands from JAKKS Pacific to Mattel – and as such, no Hulk Hogan action figures have been made by Mattel thus far.

This much is certain – the Hulk-sized void in your Mattel WWE action figure collection will be filled. The only question is – when? Is San Diego Comic-Con too soon?

S.H. Figuarts Super Mario Looks Nothing Like Bob Hoskins

I know someone, somewhere, feels like he’s been jumped on by a 300 pound plumber because Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts Super Mario is from the video game, not the movie. Not me! I had really been looking forward to seeing this figure (and its accessory packs) at Toy Fair, before our trip was cancelled due to the weather.

Now Bandai has released more pics of Super Mario on the S.H.Figuarts Facebook page, and now I’m looking forward to owning the Mario that will out-jump all other Mario figures. You can pre-order the S.H. Figuarts Super Mario for $24.99, and the two accessory packs (Diorama Set A and Diorama Set B) for $19.99 each, at Entertainment Earth. These are all expected to arrive this July.

DC Collectibles Shares Details on the Batman: The Animated Series Figure Line

To whet our appetites for their new Batman: The Animated Series figures, DC Collectibles has posted a feature that provides background on the animated shows which are the source material for the designs, and details the features of the figures shown thus far – Batman from 1997’s New Batman Adventures and Catwoman from 1992’s The Animated Series. I don’t think I’ve seen this in print anywhere, but I believe that Gentle Giant is the design studio behind these figures.

If you hadn’t heard, the first wave will have two more figures – Mr. Freeze and Two-Face, both based on the 1997 designs. But it’ll be a long wait for the four figures. They’re due to hit shelves in November.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer Will Blow You Away

Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Trailer Pic

The Guardians of the Galaxy just got its first official trailer, and flark if it didn’t blow me away. It hits on all the right notes, evoking Indiana Jones (Raiders Indy, not Crystal Skull Indy), Firefly, and even a little bit of the Usual Suspects. I think Marvel has nailed it with its casting again (why can’t Warner Brothers figure it out for DC?), and if this is a smash, Chris Pratt should be catapulted into RDJ heights of stardom. But make no mistake, I think Rocket Raccoon will steal every scene in this movie – both kids and adults will love him.

This is all good news for the toys. The Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Infinite Series figures should hit shelves in July, and three LEGO Marvel sets for Guardians of the Galaxy should hit in June. The movie opens August 1st.
