Our next POP figure will hopefully be Netossa, one of the hardest of the vintage figs to track down! She comes with a net/cape and her shield! If the sub happens she will be the Jan monthly figure.
Next up is Jitsu! If the sub moves forward he will be the Feb. figure and comes with three swords, two of which will snap into his back armor. And don’t forget that trademark chopping hand!
Fan Man comes straight from the classic Filmation series. He will also come with his time tablet and will be the March figure should the sub hit the min number of subscribers.
King He-Man is the bonus sub only figure. He will come with his staff and battle damaged electronic Power Sword! He will also include a brand neww mini comic telling the Secret Origin of Skeletor!
Ram Man will hopefully be the first of the Quarterly overzied/or variant figures. He will have a second helmet-less head and his ax.
The vintage model kit drivers are here at last as The Fighting Foe Men (and concept name for the orignal 1982 line!). If the sub moves forward they will be the second quarter oversized/variant slot (in this case a 3 pack). They will also include swapable chest logos to turn them into members of the Horde!
Although not part of the sub, Strobo, our “traveling convention figure” will only move forward if there is a sub. He will come with his orb, orb holder, ray gun (which didn’t make it to SDCC!) and a maskless Zodak head for your exisiting Zodak figure from 2009! Told you we’d get to this!
Hey He-Fans!
As revealed at SDCC a few weeks back, we have an amazing 2013 line up in the works for MOTUC 6″ figures, but it will only go forward if we hit the min number of subscribers. To purchase a monthly sub and find out all the details, head over to Mattycollector.com. Sub sales are only through Aug 6th, so sub up now to support more MOTUC figures!
Here’s a look at a few of the figures that will come out in 2013, should we sell the min number of subs!
Club Eternia subscribers were treated to a sneak peek of the box art for Granamyr the Wise, of the Eternian Dragons of Darksmoke. Granymyr made several appearances in the original Masters of the Universe cartoon.
I was blown away by the sheer massiveness of Granymyr at San Diego Comic-Con. I wondered at the time if those little chicken legs would be able to support his weight if you tried to pose him standing up instead of sitting – this confirms that sadly, they won’t. I’m thinking that could be remedied using some of the flight stands that had been available through MattyCollector some time back – they’re pretty sturdy, and could be strategically placed under Granymyr’s posterior.
Rudy Obrero returns as the artist for the box art – as many know, he did a lot of the artwork for the original Masters toy line, including Castle Grayskull and the vehicles, and he returned to Classics for the Wind Raider box art. I did not know that Rudy also worked on the Club Eternia exclusive maps: Eternia, Etheria, and Preternia – click for the AFP map viewers for each.
I’ve been gushing for some time about Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai line (see the latest from Square Enix from San Diego Comic-Con), and after opening up Street Fighter Cammy felt compelled to take a quick and simple picture. Of course, you know what they say about best laid plans – this was not as quick and simple as I’d have liked, but I’m pleased with how this shot turned out after making some easy adjustments, despite not really doing any up front planning for it. In this article, I’ll explain a couple of things that I did to compose this shot in Photoshop.
At the He-Man.org Power Party I finally got a chance to sit down and talk to Rudy Obrero face to face. At the party Rudy told me that he wants to make the Manta Raider available to the fans!!!
I need to figure out the logistics and price but it will be a very very limited run, definitely under 100. We talked about having it in some type of packaging so we can use Rudy’s awesome painting!
The plan right now is to have it ready for Power Con in September. Rudy will have a table there with some prints for sale. Best of all you can have all the items signed by Rudy!
Joe assured us that this is in no way affiliated with Mattel or Masters of the Universe. The original concept was based on fan fiction written by Rudy, and the original painting of the Manta Raider was done for his personal collection. Joe says we’ll likely see some design changes before this limited art collectible is released to ensure that it’s clear this is an independent, fan-driven project.
We’ll keep in touch with Joe as Power Con approaches – can’t wait to see the final art and vehicle!
Ani-Com in Hong Kong is right in the backyard of Hot Toys, so it’s no surprise that there were a ton of reveals. Here’s a photo rundown of the Hot Toys booth from godofcat, via Mark OSR of One Sixth Republic.
