BotCon in Pasadena this Weekend and Optimus Prime Free Stuff

Hey folks, BotCon is on at the Pasadena Convention Center this weekend. With Transformers: Dark of the Moon (you can check out one of the trailers on Hasbro’s Transformers site – wow!) less then a month away, you can expect that it will be action-packed. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Sandman will have a chance to stop by.

In celebration, we’re holding a special Free Stuff giveaway – a Transformers Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime preview action figure – kindly provided by the Hasbro PR team. To keep it simple, leave a reply on this post. Just tell us what you’re looking forward to in the movie or what you want to see in the Transformers toy line. A week from today, we’ll select a lucky commenter at random from those of you in the continental United States, and contact you via email for your address. That’s it!

AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 6/1/11

Would you look at this? We made the deadline for the latest installment of Ask Matty. Big thanks to the folks at Mattel!

1) We’re pretty psyched to have Swamp Thing finally joining the DC Universe Classics line! Can you tell us more about the “endoskeletal” articulation – is that an existing DCUC body under there, or a new base just from Swamp Thing? Will the underlying figure have the standard DCUC points of articulation, like bicep, waist, wrist, and thigh swivels?

We’ve asked design if they can provide specifics. As soon as we get an answer back we will post it.

Have You Pre-Ordered Your Scarabus Sets?

I’ve been pretty busy with my day job (as evidenced by the relative lack of updates here) but not too busy to put in my order for Scarabus at the Store Horsemen site (which has a new URL: http://www.shopfourhorsemen.com/). I knew I wasn’t going to have room for the awesome Scarabus 10-pack, but I did want to get all of the Egyptian-themed variants, which the Four Horsemen made available for pre-order as the Dark Deities set.
