Ghostbusters PKE Meter Available on MattyCollector.com

If you had stopped by Mattycollector.com today to check on your shipping notices or to pick up something else from their Cyber Monday sale, you might have encountered a surprising WSOD, even though Cyber Monday ended, well, on Monday. Today’s sale of the Ghostbusters PKE, plus the remaining stock for Cyber Monday was enough to turn on the metering lights.

I’m wondering if Talyn has picked up this prop yet. He’s a big Ghostbusters fan. The PKE meter was still available when I checked last night.

Ghostbusters™ PKE Meter -$60.00

This prop replica features light sequences from both Ghostbusters™ and Ghostbusters™ II, adjustable LED and screen animation speeds, three screen displays as seen in the films (diagonal, off, arc) and opening wings!

Sideshow Avatar AMP Maquette Unboxing Video

Sorry, that isn’t an actual player displayed below – you’ll have to click through to see the AMP Suit Maquette unboxing. When I watched it, I was so impressed I had to post about it here. This thing is massive – 21 x 19 x 19 inches – with an insane amount of detailing.

As cool as this is, I don’t have the $1,199.99, not to mention the addition on our house I’d have to build to display this monster. If you do, head over to Sideshow to buy the Avatar AMP Suit Maquette.

Out of the Box – Avatar AMP Suit Maquette

Launching the Sideshow Collectibles line of AVATAR collectibles is the AMP Suit Maquette, created in conjunction with one of the film’s special effects studios, Legacy Effects. Created directly from 3D modeled by the team that created the 14-foot suit used during filming, the AMP Suit is a truly authentic scaled representation. Each piece is individually painted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. The AMP Suite Maquette is comprised of polystone, cloth, resin, fiberglass, metal, ABS and PVC plastics and is the perfect addition to any display.

AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 12/1/10

The crew from Mattel is back with another edition of Ask Matty. Our thanks to Toy Guru and the gang!

1) This may be a question for the Four Horsemen – what’s desired for the DC Universe Classics line for head size? Some of the early figures had heads on the smaller size, like Batman and Aquaman, while some of the more recent figures seem to have oversized heads, like Guy Gardner, Alan Scott, and OMAC. Is this an intentional move to make the heads bigger?

DCUC15 OMAC 023.jpg

Sometimes it is intentional, based on character; sometimes it is due to tooling issues. We do strive for consistency but it is not a perfect world and sometimes not everything comes out the way design wants. In some cases, like with the corrected height Sinestro coming to TRU next month, we try to fix things when we can!

Fantastic Exclusive Gothitropolis Scarabus Paint Masters

Wow – these look great! Wonder how they’re going to work with the interchangeable face plates.

They’re marching off to war! Actually these are shots of all of the Scarabus variant paint-masters waiting nice and patiently to be boxed up and sent over to the factories.

Although we’re going to ask to get these back, often the paint-masters are damaged beyond repair or even destroyed during production. Our fingers are crossed that this doesn’t happen to ours and we’ve been pretty fortunate with it in the past, but even if they do make it back to us intact there’s a good chance that they’ll have a lot of wear and tear, and they’ll need to be touched up and repaired again before they’ll be shown to the public again. Which, if everything goes as planned might be in February…

But more on that at another time.
