Free Shipping and Marvel Select Sale at Marvel Store (Today Only)

Marvel is running a promo for free shipping at the Marvel Store with code MARVELSHIP. This is a good deal when combined with some of the figures on sale, like the Marvel Select movie Falcon ($14.99, normally $24.95) and the Disney store exclusive Marvel Select Spider-Man and Electro two-pack ($29.99, normally $49.95). There’s more on sale, including some Funko and Minimates.

Free shipping applies across the entire store, so if you were looking to pick up some Marvel gear (I’m a fan of their t-shirts) or other official merchandise, now’s the time. The free shipping offer is for today (January 19) only, so get your orders in while you can.

Note: Our email digests are sent out once a day (we don’t want to clog your inbox when we post more than that), and some subscribers can miss out on these one day only sales. Please consider following AFP on Facebook, Google+, and Twitter for instant updates. Happy shopping!

Create a New Combiner Transformer in Next Hasbro “Fan Built Bot” Poll

Transformers Age Of Extinction app 1

Hasbro’s upcoming “Fan Built” poll takes it to the next level. This time around, you won’t just be designing one bot – you’ll take part in creating a Combiner, with all the vehicles that comprise it.

And, instead of using traditional web polls, Hasbro will be updating their existing Transformers: Age of Extinction apps (on iOS and Android) to incorporate the design questions. Over the course of three weekly stages, you’ll get to determine the features of the new Combiner, including the types of vehicles involved, the faction it will join, and eventually the name of the new character. And as they did with Windblade, Hasbro will release the Combiner as a toy, in 2016.

Stay tuned for an official launch date, and in the meantime download the app to play the Transformers: Age of Extinction games and to view movie content. Roll out!

ThreeA Toys Judge Death Up for Pre-Order Now

3A Toys Judge Death 5

3A Toys has held its 2000 A.D. license for several years now, but they’ve released figures more slowly than we’d like. In 2010, they released Tharg, followed by ABC Warriors Mongrol and Ro-Jaws in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Today’s pre-order for Judge Death marks their launch into the more widely known Judge Dredd domain and their transition to the 1/12 scale for 2000 A.D. (Tharg was a 1/6 scale figure, and the ABC Warriors came in both 1/6 and 1/12 scales.)

Judge Death features a new 3A super-articulated body, fabric apps, and will come in two colorways – a standard colored version and a 3A-exclusive “classic comic” grey-scale. Both versions of the 3A Toys Judge Death are available for pre-order at Bambaland for $60 each. Dredd and Hammerstein have been teasssssssed as the next figures in the pipeline.

Lonely Lizard Man Makes for a Bleak Mattycollector January Sale

Mattycollector Sale January 2015

November and December were blowout months of a sort at Mattycollector, with DC Universe Classics going on closeout and the final figures, Doomsday and Damien Wayne Robin going on sale. In comparison, this month looks drastically different, with a single new figure up for grabs.

Masters of the Universe Classics fans may get a kick out of Lizard Man, who probably would have ended up in a Club Filmation sub if that had continued. But not even consolation prize Extendar can bring this month’s sale out of the post-holiday funk. Early Access opens tomorrow at 8AM PST, and All Access for January opens up at 9AM PST on Friday.
