Hasbro Shares Details for Star Wars Retailer Exclusives

We’re a week away from Force Friday, and Hasbro has more retailer exclusives incoming. As you might expect, most are tied-in with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but a certain astromech droid is looking to remote control his way to your heart.

With the Star Wars Smart R2-D2, Hasbro is looking to capture some of the magic that Sphero did with its app-enabled BB-8 (http://amzn.to/2cMWhmE). While you won’t be able to pick up R2-D2 at Walmart until next week, you can preview the companion app for Android and iOS now. Now I just need an appropriately-sized C-3PO head for Artoo to drag around.

More Hasbro Rogue One A Star Wars Story Toys

If you were wondering where the 3.75-inch figures were in yesterday’s Star Wars reveals from Hasbro (http://afpics.link/2bGG8ir), they couldn’t be contained in a single announcement! But there’s more.

Hasbro also shared their role play items, which include a voice changer Death Trooper mask and a pretty cool update to their Stormtrooper voice changer helmet.

“Every Day They Grow Stronger” – Hasbro Reveals Line-Ups for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Hasbro Rogue One A Star Wars Story Black Series

You didn’t need the Force to know Hasbro would be coming out with new toys for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, right? Hasbro has shared the initial line-ups for vehicles and playsets for the 3.75-inch scale, a wave of figures for Star Wars: Black Series in the 6-inch scale, and basic and deluxe figures in the 12-inch scale.

With their recent foray into super-articulated 12-inch figures for Marvel, I thought maybe Star Wars would follow suit with Black Series in 12-inches. But that’s not to be this time around.

No Bothans were harmed to bring us this press release.

AFP Free Stuff Giveaway – Star Wars: The Force Awakens #ChooseDarkSide Mega Pack

We haven’t done an official AFP Free Stuff Giveaway in a while, but this one was worth the wait (if we do say so ourselves!) The Sith Lords at Hasbro were devious enough to send us a Dark Side-inspired, Jabba-sized pile of loot, and we are going to corrupt you with a chance (actually, five chances) to take it all for your own. After all, it furthers our nefarious goal of ruling the toy website universe.
