I’m not sure if DST actually mean they’ll be shipping these to both the Disney Stores and TRU, but regardless, this is a cool starter set for people new to Marvel Minimates.

Over the past few years it’s been difficult to ignore the pull of the old twelve-inch scale market. As popular franchises get better and more detailed treatment, the collective bank accounts of action figure fiends across the globe groan under the weight of the threat.
With its Iron Man 2 license, Hot Toys upped the ante with their Mark IV design and War Machine. They’re great, surely enough, but not my speed.
Enter Whiplash, the gruesome marvel incarnation of that slab of wreckage that is Mickey Rourke.
The new Wal-Mart exclusive Iron Man 2 Mark IV seems to be hitting pretty good now – well, except for my town… Luckily, my good buddy, Xavion2004 from over at the Fwoosh, found one for me in his town! So I thought I’d write a little follow up to Talyn’s Quick Pics of the Mark IV and snapped a boatload of pics.
To continue with some Marvel Universe Wave 9 goodness, here’s some Quick Pics of Iron Patriot! I managed to pick up both versions of him, unmasked and masked. Obviously, this is a repaint of the previously released Extremis Iron Man figure. I loved the Extremis figure so I couldn’t pass up picking up Norman in his own version of the armor. Plus, he was the main villain during Dark Reign so he’s an important character for me. I’ve put up pics of the unmasked, Osborn mixed in with his masked Iron Patriot armor. On to the pics!
