San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Toy Story Buzz Lightyear

It’s getting pretty late and I need my beauty rest, so this one covering the SDCC Exclusive Toy Story Buzz Lightyear is going to be pretty brief.

I’m not sure why I took pictures of the outer box.  It’s black.  It has what I presume is the Buzz Lightyear logo on it.  It also picks up fingerprints like one of those beautiful people on CSI: Miami.  The goods are inside.  Buzz’s rocketship are held in place by a couple of cardboard inserts that help protect those wings.  It’s been a long time since I’ve watched the first Toy Story, but the packaging is close enough for my poor memory.  It evokes the packaging from the movie, even if it’s not accurate to it.

Win one of these Gleeks! Just the bagged ones - that one in front is staying right here.

A lot of AFP’s readers come from TheFwoosh.com – if you’re one of them, then you probably know about a little Gleek giveaway they were running right after San Diego Comic-Con.  Well, Fwoosh’s Gleek Week may be over, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck with Ebay or trading a kidney to get a SDCC exclusive DC Universe Classics Gleek.  We’ve got a few here to give away too – when VeeBee wasn’t looking, I ran off with three of Fwoosh’s Gleeks.  True story.

To get your chance to win a Gleek, all you need to do is subscribe to one or more of the following from ActionFigurePics.com:

  • E-mail Newsletter – Subscribe to our newsletter and you’ll get email (maximum of one per day) when we update the site with new action figure pics.  Plus you’ll be entered in our “Free Stuff” drawings.  And we will never, ever, sell your e-mail address or send you spam.  Note: only verified e-mails will be eligible, so look for the first email from us and use the enclosed link to verify your address.
  • Facebook Page – Become a fan and you’ll see links to AFP articles on your Facebook wall when we update the site.

All of these services are totally free!

A week from today, on Saturday, August 8, I’ll select one winner at random from subscribers to each of the services – one for the e-mail newsletter, one for Facebook, and one for Twitter.  And don’t worry – if you’re already signed up, then you’ll be included in the drawing.

So, I’ll look forward to seeing more of you on e-mail, Facebook, and Twitter, and hope that I’ll get the chance to send a Gleek your way!  Good luck!

San Diego Comic-Con Mattel Presentations

Mattel has updated its Facebook page with its San Diego Comic-Con presentations – DC Power Partnership Panel – SDCC 09 and Mattypalooza Fan Panel – SDCC 2009.  I’ve included some excerpts for DC Universe Classics, Masters of the Universe Classics, and Ghostbusters.  The panels were great – folks were pretty excited about all the reveals.

San Diego Comic-Con Toynami and Bandai Pics

Just getting more San Diego Comic-Con pics cleaned up and posted.  In this installment, I’ve got Futurama figures from Toynami and a bunch of robots from Bandai.

Futurama – I became a big fan of the show after a friend relentlessly badgered me to watch it after it had been canceled.  I never picked up any figures, just not my style, but with the new Toynami figures coming out, there’s an opportunity for folks looking to start up a collection now that more episodes have been picked up by Comedy Central for 2010.
