WebSwipe: New ThreeA Toys Licenses at Beast Kingdom Toys in Taiwan by Figure Hobby Club

ThreeA Toys Taipei by Figure Hobby Club (Luka)

I’d love to get to all the toy shows around the world – right now 3A Toys has a toy / art show going on at Beast Kingdom Toys in Taipei, Taiwan. In addition to the massive displays of World War Robot, Adventure Kartel, and Popbot, I was excited to see some new prototypes and figures from some of the newer licenses that they’ve acquired. Chinese site Figure Hobby Club was there to capture these shots, and they’ve got not one, but two massive threads of all the action at the show.

I’ve grabbed a couple of shots of the new Real Steel, Valve (Portal), and other figures that stood out. In particular, the Capcom prototypes were really illustrative of the kind of work 3A can do that is not 3a-styled, if you know what I mean. Should give some ideas on what we might see (or not see) with respect to the Marvel license.

Hot Toys Announces Second Iron Man Diecast – the Mark XLII

Hot Toys Diecast Iron Man Mark XLII 1

It should be no surprise that Hot Toys is making a Mark 42 figure for its Iron Man 3 line. However, they’ve only announced Diecast figures so far – the Hot Toys Diecast Iron Patriot was the first.

It appears that the diecast products will command a $50 premium over their normal (read: plastic) counterparts. The Mark 42 and the Iron Patriot are being sold for around $309.99 by online retailers. The recently announced limited edition (and plastic) Mark VII from the Avengers line is going for $259.99. Both the Mark 42 and the Mark VII feature LED lights, alternate heads and hands, and interchangeable armor pieces for pristine and battle-damaged looks, so it’s a fair comparison.

How Much Would You Pay for this LEGO Castle Grayskull Playset?

LEGO Castle Grayskull Playset 1

Sadly, it’s not for sale, but LEGO enthusiast Fraslund has certainly made a LEGO Castle Grayskull playset which gets the imagination going. Unlike Hasbro, with its KRE-O brand, I don’t think Mattel has its own brand of construction toys, leaving open the licensing opportunity for LEGO to add Masters of the Universe to its stable of toy brands that captivated my youth – Marvel, DC, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sadly, this probably has as much chance as Skeletor taking over Eternia, but I can dream, right?

McFarlane Toys The Walking Dead Series Four Preview Pics

McFarlane Toys announced the lineup for series 4 of their TV-based action figures for The Walking Dead, and thanks to BigBadToyStore we’ve got our first look at them. With Andrea, Carl, and the Governor, they’ve got some of the big hitters from season 3 of the show. The lineup also includes 2 more zombies (of which you can never have enough) and a 2-pack of the bad-ass brothers Merle and Daryl.

I know a few folks who didn’t pick up Daryl when they had the chance, so they’ll want to jump on this set and then customize a walker version of Merle if they’ve already got his single-packed figure.
