Here are more pics from Bluefin Tamashii Nations’ booth at SDCC 2014:

I’ve never played the game, but I’m lovin’ the look of this Injustice Batman! They also had Injustice Joker on display. Both figures come with new exclusive accessories, a mask for Batman and a gas mask for Joker.

They also were teasing silhouettes of Injustice Superman and Harley Quinn.

SDCC 2014: Hallmark Star Wars Itty Bittys

Better late than never… here’s a sneak peak from Hallmark’s booth at SDCC 2014 from their super kawaii plush line called Itty Bittys. Available this September: there will be a limited edition box set of Episode IV Bundle that includes Luke, C-3PO, Obi-Wan and a Jawa. Also available but sold individually will be R2-D2 and Darth Vader. The 2014 Comic Con exclusive set was a Bantha and Tusken Raider… only one pair per customer. Scored a set on the last day! SDCC 2014: Bluefin Tamashii Nations

For the last couple of years at SDCC, one of my first stops on Preview Night has been the Bluefin Tamashii Nations booth. I just love the licenses that they have like Dragon Ball Z,  Sailor Moon, and the new Naruto line. I absolutely have to have figures from them on Preview Night, to play with when I come back to my hotel room. They were selling a couple of SDCC exclusives in Figuarts Armored Black Ranger and Anime Vegeta.

Of course, they had a couple of new figures to show for the Con. Here’s a rundown of the ones that caught my eye!

SDCC 2014: Mattel: Mattypalooza 2014 – Video

SDCC 2014 Masters of the Universe Classics He-Man Hsss Robots

From San Diego Comic-Con this past Friday, here’s our video of the Mattel’s Mattypalooza panel. The panel was understandably a bit light on the DC and Ghostbuster properties – DC Universe Classics is wrapping up this year with the Conner Kent Superboy, Damian Wayne Robin, and the Super Powers 6-figure line-up, and Ghostbusters has an anemic offering of the four Ghostbusters with removable Proton Packs – they had these tooled up in anticipation of making the Ecto-1, which sadly didn’t hit the pre-order minimum last year.

Most of the panel was devoted to Masters of the Universe – the bulk of which was focused on the “last year” of Classics (including the Snake Armor He-Man / Battle Armor King Hsss two pack and Skeletor’s Hover Robot 3-pack shown above), but also included a portion on the “franchise” outside of toys, mostly comic books. For the action figures, Toy Guru was a bit enigmatic on what we’d see after 2015 – he did say in the panel that 2015 would be the wrap-up of the vintage line, but that 6-inch might continue, just in a different way. For his comments, you can skip to about 44 minutes into the video.

What is also uncertain is the future of Mattel’s long-term collaboration with the Four Horsemen after 2015. Was Cornboy hinting at a change during his sentimental intro? What do you guys think?

SDCC 2014: Mattel and WWE: Over-the-Top-Action! – Video

Here’s the first of a few videos of panels from San Diego Comic-Con. From Thursday morning, here’s the Mattel and WWE panel, featuring Michael Cole hosting Daniel Bryan, Paul Heyman, and the immortal Hulk Hogan!

Mattel’s WWE team takes us through upcoming action figure releases, including the first ever Hulk Hogan, Razor Ramon, and Doink the Clown in the Mattel era of WWE. But you can’t miss the Q&A section that includes special appearances from the “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart and Sting, introducing his first WWE action figure ever.
