San Diego Comic-Con 2011 – threeA Toys Exclusive WWRp Slaughterhouse Dropcloth

DSCN3867.JPG

The San Diego Comic-Con exclusives from ThreeA Toys this year were some of the harder to get items at Comic-Con. Due to their limited numbers, they sold out every day within an hour of the Con opening. Most of the time, the people who were lucky enough to get their hands on these exclusives had been lined up before the show opened. By some stroke of luck, I managed to pick up a ThreeA SDCC Exclusive WWRp Slaugtherhouse Dropcloth, and boy was I psyched!

Best of San Diego Comic-Con 2011 – Sandman

Another Comic-Con has passed us by, so it is time for us to pick our “Best in Show” this year! I’ve gotta do a top three since I have trouble just picking one!

3) Number three goes to Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Wave 2 Build-a-Figure Arnim Zola!

I have to admit, I’m not super familiar with the character, but I love the way he turned out! C’mon, how can you not love a guy with his face on his chest?  I see Arnim as a sign of great things to come from the revamped ML. I guess you can say I’m generally excited with the return of Marvel Legends, period. The fact that the Arnim Zola wave (wave 2) will include Bucky Cap and some Wrecking Crew members just adds to the excitement of it all! I do hope they start innovating and improving some of the standard Marvel Legends bucks moving forward (just like Thor!), it’s the perfect time to do so too with the popularity of Marvel (due to the upcoming movies) riding high for the next couple of years!

Best of San Diego Comic-Con 2011 – Buzzy Fret

Howdy, AFP viewers!

I’m finally back from San Diego Comic-Con 2011, slowly recovering from jet-lag, and making an attempt to kick start my travel-addled brain to give you my picks for Best of SDCC 2011!

3) DC Universe Classics Wave 19 Hawkman has his hooded head as a Pack-In!

DCUC wave 19 (12)

See it there, hiding behind Hawkman’s mace?

I had completely missed this at the show, and it wasn’t mentioned in either of the Mattel panels I was able to attend. It wasn’t until I got home and a friend pointed it out that I saw it. I’m incredibly happy that Mattel decided to make this Hawkman with swappable heads, as I’m not a fan of the “full beaked” mask. This improves DCUC 19 a hundred-fold for me.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 – Hasbro Star Wars Panel Presentation

The Hasbro Star Wars panel was one of a number of panels I had marked on my schedule but didn’t end up attending. Don’t take this as booth emo (a term a few die-hard 3A Legionnaires coined as we waited in line for 3A exclusives) but if you haven’t been to one of these cons, you spend a whole lot time waiting in line, and a lot of the time you don’t end up with anything but the fond memories of the conversations you had (usually about the line) with the guys around you.
