DC Universe Classics Passes the Torch at Mattycollector March Sale

Mattycollector March Sale

I’m sure it’s no coincidence that Mattycollector’s March sale (underway now) includes figures from Mattel’s outgoing DC Universe Classics and incoming DC Universe Total Heroes lines. Hook-handed Aquaman is the first of the last four DCUC figures, and John Stewart (with alternate Green Lantern heads) is the first deluxe Total Heroes figure to be sold on Matty. All six Watchmen figures are also up, for those of you who didn’t sub to Club Black Freighter or are just looking to cherry-pick.

On the Masters of the Universe Classics front, it’s the relatively unexciting Hydron, following blockbuster releases of Two Bad and Modulok – but he’s joined by New Adventures He-Man and Fang Man from last year, if they didn’t sell out during Early Access. Even if you’re not a New Adventures fan, you might want to pick up a Galactic Protector He-Man for the easy hand swap He-Man custom.

Spot the Differences and Win Captain America Set from Hot Toys

Here’s a fun Friday contest from Hot Toys – spot a difference between the Cap costumes from The First Avenger and The Winter Soldier and you could win a set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiums! While you could leave a comment here (and we love it when you do), to enter the official contest you have to comment on the contest picture on Facebook. They’ll pick 10 winners at random.

One thing that isn’t different – I still think the helmet looks goofy… What do you think?

Many fans are in anticipation for Captain America: The Winter Soldier soon hitting the theatres worldwide, are you ready yet?

3A Toys is releasing the extremely popular Meat is Murder set from the World War Robot line, this time in 1/12 Portable scale. The pre-order opens up this evening at 6PM PST, with two sets available at Bambaland (but be prepared for surprise drops). The second set is exclusive to 3AA members and adds a Harold for $200 total – but remember 3AA members get a 15% discount.

Speaking of Harolds, I’ve got a 1/6 scale JEA Marine Harold up on eBay right now – the thing is massive, so I’ve opted to just keep the 1/12 version for my collection. Thanks for looking!

WWRp (1/12th scale) JEA MIM set pre-order opens on March 14th at Bambalandstore and as mentioned previously, it’s 160USD shipped (prior to 3AA discount).

We will be offering 3AA exclusive JEA MIM deluxe set as well, it will feature Harold MIM and will be 200USD shipped.

Too Early to Predict Flash TV Figure from DC Collectibles?

DC Comics has been teasing Barry Allen’s Flash costume from its upcoming WB Flash pilot, and I’ve got to believe that DC Collectibles is working on an action figure version. With the Flash spinning off from Arrow (now in its third season), would it be too much of a gamble for DCC to start work on a figure?

While it may be premature to predict success for another Flash TV show (the Jon Wesley Shipp Flash lasted just one season), a Flash action figure could find its way into DC Collectibles’ Arrow line of figures, should the series not take off on its own. Green Arrow and Deathstroke will survive their transition from comics to small screen to action figures, and I think the Flash could too. Are you guys excited for this new version of the Flash?
