Mattel WWE Elite Collection Series 8 Press Pics

Mattel has posted pictures of their WWE Elite Collection Series 8 on their Facebook page.

I’m going to nitpick here a little. Comparing series 8 Edge with his series 1 figure, I’m glad Mattel and the WWE have started including facial sculpts with some emotion – but some of them are a little extreme, and in combination with what appears to be more simplistic paint apps, these are starting to lose some of the “realism” that I appreciated earlier in the line.

AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 2/1/11

Here’s the story – our questions for December 15 missed the deadline, and then I misplaced them when we got the answers back for January 15. But we’ll be back on the Ask Matty circuit when it starts up again after Toy Fair – and I’m sure we’ll have lots of questions following their Toy Fair presentation on February 13.

In any case, thanks to the Mattel team, and forgive us for the holiday and end-of-year-oriented questions, plus being a day late on top of that!

1) The holidays are right around the corner. What Mattel collector items might last minute shoppers find on the shelf, and what are your recommendations for best gifts this season?

DC Universe Classics Wave 16 Articulation Review

DC Universe Classics Wave 16 is starting to find its way into the hands of collectors, so it’s time to take a look at how the updated articulation is working. We had gotten a preview with the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle from the Trigon wave, but with wave 16, we’re seeing the new articulation schemes with basic human forms.

We’ll start with Robin, as he’s the best in the bunch. He’s got an impressive amount of new articulation, allowing a lot more dynamic poses.
