Masters of the Universe Classics Shadow Beast Production Sample Pics and Schedule

How many of you are looking to army build the Shadow Beast? I’m somewhat tempted, but I really am out of display space already!

The move to February will ease the burden on my overtaxed wallet.

Shadow Beast is coming in February 2011

Just got in package samples of Shadow Beast so here are pics for you to check out!

Also, we’ve heard all the feedback from fans that the Jan. 2011 sale is looking a little heavy now that the Palace Guards were pushed off a bit. So we’re going to move the Shadow Beast to Feb. 2011 instead. Remember, the Guards are actually a 2010 product (even though released in Jan. 2011) so they are not part of the 2011 subscription the way Shadow Beast is!

Enjoy!

G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Wolf Hound

DSCN9227.JPG

Let us visit the Arctics in this 2-part pic review of some G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Arctic Threat Mission toys!

With the Pursuit of Cobra line, Hasbro has chosen to divide the toys into different missions which showcase different locations. I’ve seen 4 different missions so far: City Strike, Desert Battle, Jungle Assault and the one we’re taking a look at today, Arctic Threat. The Arctic Threat’s mission is, according to the packaging, as follows: ” The G.I. Joe Team breaks into a Cobra Base that’s hiding powerful new technology! ” Pretty simple right? I personally like it, it gives kids (and adults) a starting point for play. We got the Joe vehicle Wolf Hound (with White Out) for the first installment, then we get to Destro and Snow Job for the second one.

On to the Wolf Hound pic review!

Wow! This is a great deal – at the $7.75 price,  it’s like we went back in time five or so years.

If I hadn’t pre-ordered, I would definitely start hitting my local Kmarts this weekend. I may still go to check out if I can find a J’onn with correctly matched large biceps.

So far we’ve reviewed RavenJack Knight – Starman and Jemm. Stay tuned for the Sinestro Corps Batman tomorrow!

  • Sinestro Corps Batman − Commemorating his near-indoctrination into the dark side, our hero comes with a transparent Batarang ring construct.

Universal Licensing Deals – Mattel Gets Back to the Future and NECA Says Hello to My Little Friend

There was lots of buzz today about Mattel acquiring the rights to Back to the Future that originated, of all places, on the Shocker Toys Facebook page. Some intrepid Google searching confirmed that the deal was one among many new licensing deals for Universal. Speculation is already starting about whether this will be a MattyCollector.com line and if the Four Horsemen will be their design partner, as it is with Mattel’s other classic movie license for Ghostbusters.

Nestled within the licensing announcements was the news that National Entertainment Collectibles (aka NECA) has picked up Scarface. As much as I dig Al Pacino, I hope that we get some of the other characters in the movie. Has there been an action figure with Michelle Pfeiffer’s likeness yet?

A number of merchandise deals have been secured by Universal Partnerships & Licensing for properties including Curious George, Fast & Furious and Despicable Me.

The latest partners include:
