Toy Fair 2015: Hasbro Transformers (including Devastator Video Fly-Bys)

Hasbro unveiled the latest and largest in their Combiner Wars line, going back to the beginning with Devastator. Made up of six Voyager class Constructicons, Devastator will be the biggest Combiner yet.

I’ve got video fly-bys of Devastator in his combined form and the individual Constructicons in their robot and vehicle modes. For the rest Transformers display, I took some group shots but not much else. Yes, I admit it – I’m not a very good Transfan.

Toy Fair 2015: DC Collectibles Batman the Animated Series (including Video Fly-Bys)

Before I got floored by the DC Comics Icons figures, I was visiting the DC Collectibles booth to see the new Batmobile from the Batman the Animated Series line. And it was as impressive as I was hoping.

But DCC also had two more waves of figures and a few more special sets from the line to reveal.

Toy Fair 2015: Hasbro Marvel Legends Video Fly-Bys

You may have noticed in some of our Toy Fair 2015 coverage a new feature we’re trying out – the AFP fly-by video. I’ve said before that I’m not that big of a fan of video reviews, so the Fly-By doesn’t follow the standard video review approach. No over-the-top voiceovers, no intro theme music, and no frills – just the action figures.

Toy Fair 2015: DC Collectibles DC Comics Icons Will Make You Forget DC Universe Classics

As I was taking pics of DC Collectibles newest line, the super-articulated DC Comics Icons, I overheard one of the DC Collectibles reps describe the line. “Yes, these are 6-inch scaled figures, so we are competing with Mattel!” News flash, DCC rep: DC Universe Classics is already history!

But even if they weren’t I’d wager that this line would give DCUC a run for its money. Even at the $24.99 price tag, the line embraces DC Collectibles aesthetics, with remarkable head and body sculpts – but they also add in the articulation scheme that DCC first tried out on their 3.75-inch figures. This makes for a pretty damn compelling combination.

Toy Fair 2015: Mattel Hot Wheels Elite Back to the Future DeLorean

When Mattel announced the Back to the Future license for Mattycollector way back when, I think many of us were hoping for action figures along the lines of what they had done for Ghostbusters. In hindsight, with a limited roster of characters, Mattel’s decision to forego action figures was probably a good one.

They have, however leveraged the license to make vehicles in the Hot Wheels line. The latest, the Elite Back to the Future DeLorean, allows you to customize the vehicle into all three versions of the Time Machine. You can add the Mr. Fusion reactor or the jerry-rigged mods Doc Brown whipped up in the Old West, for example.
