DC Universe Classics Custom Sinestro Corps Maash – Bigger n’ Buffer

Here is a little mod job I just finished up for fellow Fwoosher, Rick (Already Owns It) Coronel. I had done a similar Maash mod for my shelf and Rick asked if I could do the same for him but go a few steps further.

Yet Another DC Universe Classics Custom Batman!

Yep, another custom Batman! What can I say? I can’t turn down an opportunity to make a Batman. This one in particular was created for big time Dark Knight fan; batmego27. It was a bit daunting because batmego27 has some very nice custom Batman figures made by other talented customizers like Fwoosh’s Prodigy (who has made a gazillion great custom Batmans) and world famous Matt Cauley, AKA Iron Cow.

Masters of the Universe Classics De-Flocked Moss Man Custom

Howdy from the Buzzy Cave!

A while back, the bad azz, customizer known as Arez, made a de-flocked Moss Man that caught my eye. Even though I’m a sucker for cool, ape like figures, I didn’t buy the Masters of the Universe Classics Moss Man when it was offered because I’m not a fan of flocking. But seeing Arez’s de-flocked Mossy made me realize how awesome Mossy could be without the fuzz and I thought making one of my own would be a fun, easy custom project. Fun and easy… Ha!

DC Universe Classics Custom Sinestro Corps Sinestro

I picked up Green Lantern Classics Wave 1 last week and decided to use one of the Sinestro Corps bodies to knock out a quick and easy custom I’ve been wanting to do for over a year. Back in December of 2009, I found a good deal on a DC Direct SC Sinestro for $9 and knowing how coveted this particular figure is, I snapped it up like an avaricious Orange Lantern. My reasoning for it was that, sometime in the mist shrouded future, I would use parts from it to make a much more imposing and dangerous looking Sinestro than we got in DCUC 3. That time has come.

DC Universe Classics modded Green Lanterns

We seem to be having a Green Lantern theme going on today, so I thought I’d post a quick picture of some of the mods that I’ve been getting done for my Green Lantern shelf.

  • Guy Gardner – I felt he really suffered between prototype and production with regard to the size of his head. Benty made a mold and cast it in wax for the natural shrinkage. Because it was in wax, he was able to mod the jawline before re-molding. Awesome paint work too!
  • Alan Scott – He suffered from big head-itis too, so Benty followed the same process by casting in wax. For Alan, I also asked him to close his mouth and bring forward his receding hairline just a tad. Benty painted the final cast too.
  • Hal JordanBuzzy already did a very nice write-up for his resculpt of Hal’s hair to achieve the modern look. I never saw the metallic Hal at Toys R Us, so when Buzzy found an extra I asked him if he would put on a cast of the modern head and paint it for me. I also asked him to raise the head a little, as Hal suffers from no neck-itis straight out of the box.

Big thanks to Benty and Buzzy for these awesome GLs! If anyone wants more pics, close-ups, comparisons, etc, let me know and I’ll snap some more pics!
