Hot Toys Announces Loki from Thor: The Dark World

Hot Toys announced Thor from the Dark World and an exclusive light armor version two and a half months ago, and it was a bit of a surprise not to have his brother Loki alongside him. Hot Toys has rectified that with this announcement. I hope they continue to work on the likeness of Tom Hiddleston – something seems a bit off in these shots. The Avengers Loki release just seems to capture him better.

I haven’t seen the pre-order yet, but I’d check Sideshow Collectibles for the Hot Toys Loki since they will likely get the exclusive version that includes the Aether accessory.

Exclusive Marvel Legends All-New X-Men Box Set Coming to Toys R Us

The All-New X-Men are heading your way via a Marvel Legends box set exclusive to Toys R Us. The five-pack includes Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Iceman, and Beast, in their decidedly old X-Men costumes that just happen to be new again – due to the magic of time-travel and the need to bring back dead characters and extricate others from the mess they landed up in during the last awful comic book cross-over. (Thanks, X-Men vs. Avengers!)

According to online reports, the box set is due to hit shelves February 1, with a price of $84.99.

Sideshow Announces Captain America: The Winter Soldier Quarter Scale Figures plus Hot Toys “Rescue” Cap Giveaway

Looks like Captain America and the Winter Soldier are getting quarter scale premium format figures from Sideshow Collectibles. They’ve just released a teaser image promising likenesses of Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan from the upcoming movie. No word on when they will become available – just the mysterious “coming soon” label.

Check out the preview for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier figures and you’ll also be able to enter their giveaway for a Hot Toys Captain America “rescue” version – this was a “Toy Fairs” exclusive from 2012 – and check out the rest of Sideshow’s Captain America figures.

ThreeA Toys Reveals Upcoming Microman Figures

It was way back during San Diego Comic-Con in 2011 that Ashley Wood revealed that 3A Toys had picked up the license for Microman, setting off a bit of frenzy from fans of the Micronauts. It had been several years before Jerry Macaluso had attempted to bring back Micronauts while he was still with SOTA Toys, and fans of the property were eager for something. But following the announcement, there was almost no 3A Toys Microman activity, until today.

3A revealed pictures of the first wave of Microman figures, which consists of several colorways of String Divers. The figures will be in 1/12 scale, and will feature a removable respirator. More info to follow, as they’ve just revealed the images at this point.

Popbot Lasstranaut Headlines ThreeA Toys’ 3AA 2014 Membership Package

It’s that time of year again – 3A Toys is opening up its 3AA membership for the year. 3AA affords its members with a 15% discount on all 3A purchases, including those at conventions and shows. The membership also gives access to exclusive 3AA colorways for major releases, special KLUB-only releases (kind of like mini-subs with a bonus for buying each item in it), as well as a guaranteed order window for these exclusives.

The 3AA membership also includes a gorgeous package packed with artwork and loot from Ashley Wood – including the exclusive Lasstranaut from Wood’s Popbot universe. Lasstranaut is an extremely popular character for 3A enthusiasts, so I expect a good turnout from the Legionnaires – but those of you with more mainstream tastes will wonder why this female astronaut isn’t wearing pants. I have no idea on that, but understand that 3A is producing the figure with a new articulation setup that you can see on those legs – it’s an outer “skin” over an articulated armature.

The 3AA package is $200 , or $170 if you’re a current member. The sale starts on today at 8PM EST at Bambaland and will be available for 24 hours.
