McFarlane Halo, DC Universe Young Justice, and More On Sale with Friday Doorbusters at Toys R Us

Toys R Us has an online deal today only for an extra 10% off, including already discounted figures. It’s a mish-mash of stuff, as usual, but there are some Halo and Young Justice figures on sale. I haven’t actually seen the new Halo stuff in stores, but got confused by the “6-inch” designation on the new stuff. Are the new Halo figures truly in the 6-inch scale? If so I might have to check them out.

Amazon Lightning Deal on Mattel Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Tonight at 6PM PST

Folks have been making the best of the current Hasbro Marvel Legends sale at Amazon.com – right now RoML Series 3 is available for under $9 each – and it looks like Mattel is going to get a turn with an upcoming Lightning sale on the Mattel Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters.

It’s set to kick off at 6PM PST tonight (12/6), and these flash sales usually go for a couple of hours. I think it will be limited to Batman, Bane, and Catwoman, because those are the only ones available from Amazon. (The more rare figures are also in stock, but are from other sellers just using the Amazon sales channel.) Should be some good prices, because they’re already priced pretty well:

But wait for 6PM PST for the Amazon Lightning Deal!

Mattel Gift Pak Palooza Sale Today Through 1/4

Orko with Prince Adam, He-Man, and Battle Armor Skeletor

Mattel is making spirits bright by offering Masters of the Universe Classics and Ghostbusters multi-packs for sale starting today and running through January 4 or while supplies last.

The deals aren’t quite as rich as the MattyCollector Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale, but with each pack you will be getting $10 off a set of 3 MOTUC figures and $5 off of 2 Ghostbusters – more if you consider the prices were bumped up from $20 to $22 this year.

For the Masters of the Universe Classics figures, I wonder how long these will manage to stay in stock – a month seems like a long time. If they do manage to last it out, then I suppose Mattel has got a lot of inventory of the figures they decided to keep in stock all the time, like He-Man and Skeletor. And I’m still confused about the concept of day of stock and reserve stock – I don’t know if variant figures like Battle Armor Skeletor and Hordak were overproduced, because they sold out just like all the rest of them, or if there’s just a lot of figures left that were held in reserve for defects / replacement.

And Ghostbusters… with the subscription not moving forward this line suffered a long and slow end. I wonder if the performance of Ghostbusters has had anything to do with why we haven’t seen a figure line for Back to the Future. But then, we’re talking about a limited cast with characters that have even less potential for reuse. Still, it makes you wonder how NECA can keep churning out Predators.

Who knows? Maybe BTTF will be the surprise this coming Toy Fair. Anyways, happy shopping!

ThreeA Toys Adventure Kartel Removalists Zomb 2-Pack One Hour Sale on 12/6

Given that this upcoming 3A Toys release is limited to one hour, I double-checked the start time with a fancy world clock calculator. The Adventure Kartel Removalists 2-pack goes on sale on Thursday, 12/6, at 8PM EST. I’m planning on splitting a set with someone, but not before switching the shirts and shoes to get a black and white mix. Depending on the cost, I might pick up another set just for the pure black and white experience.

Some conspiracy theorists are saying the window to buy is limited just to drum up more business – the idea is that 3A collectors have already been inundated with Zombs. I don’t know about you, but I still need more Zombs to bolster my collection.

You can pick these up at the Bambaland Store – remember, 12/6 at 8PM EST. Good luck!

Matty Posts Awesome Masters of the Universe Classics Artwork

Mattel has posted some awesome artwork over the past few days promoting its Masters of the Universe Classics line. The first two pieces were featured at the MOTU Art Show during New York Toy Fair – they’re the Heroic and Evil Warriors by Joe Ng and Espen Grundetjern. Rudy Obrero is responsible for the Granymyr packaging art. I can’t wait to see his new work for the upcoming Castle Grayskull.

And hopefully you haven’t missed the Fwoosh’s First Look at MOTUC Ram Man!
