ThreeA Toys Popbot Tomorrow Queens Slated for Action Portable Release

Tomorrow Queens in the 1/12 scale made their first appearances at San Diego Comic Con this year, with a 1/12 Little Shadow (technically from Adventure Kartel) and two black / white queens. The APTQ preview above, however, features five Tomorrow Queens seen for the first time in 1/12 scale. From left to right, they are:

  • Queeny from Seven Bones
  • Princess, who in 1/6 was the first TQ from Tomorrow King Classics
  • TQLoper, who in 1/6 was a very rare chase figure
  • Lolli, the XXXmas Tomorrow Queen, who in 1/6 went on sale in December last year
  • Vanilla Pod, who came with a severed bot head in her 1/6 release

Am wondering what we might see for a super secret rare drop when these go up for pre-order, hopefully in December. What do you guys think?

ThreeA Toys Pile of Loot – Fighting JC, Tommy, and Zombs (and more Zombs!)

I’ve been spending some time with my parents for a few weeks, and I’m going through toy withdrawal. But one of the silver linings in the being away from home cloud is the pile of loot (to borrow from one of my favorite online retailers, Big Bad Toy Store). It just so happens that the pile is filling up with some awesome stuff from 3A Toys, including a 1/6 Fighting JC (my latest Holy Grail), Tommy, and Zombs in both the 1/6 and 1/12 scale.

ThreeA Toys Action Portable Zombs

It’s Halloween, so there’s no better time to take a look at the super-articulated Action Portable Zombs by 3A Toys. The 6-inch Zombs were offered for pre-order last year and delivered this summer – and I have bashing my brains out (coincidentally one of the ways to kill a zombie) for not having ordered more of these. I did pick up the 3-pack (the 3 guys staring at the carded figures), the Shadow Zomb (he’s carded in all black), and a blind-packed single (turned out to be the pink hooded Zomb). But the more I play with them, the more I want to build an army of these undead guys.

Quick Pic – Judge Dredd vs Judge Death and 3A Zombs

I saw Dredd 3D a couple of weekends ago and liked it very much, despite some excessive use of slow-mo – I am referring to the visual technique vs. the Slow-Mo drug that is central to the plot. And speaking of plot, the movie plays out much like a video game – after all, it follows Judge Dredd and Anderson through (was it 300?) levels of a Mega-complex, as they work their way to the final boss. Even with these flaws, the movie packs some great action and Karl Urban’s characterization of Judge Dredd is right on the money.
