New NECA Twilight Figures in Stores Now

OK. Twilight’s not exactly my thing. But back when we were still hoping for Series 2 of NECA’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle line, Randy Falk told me that Twilight was NECA’s biggest selling line. My wife and I saw these at Toys R Us the other day – she wasn’t interested, but I think if NECA made some vinyl figures there’s another Twilight market ready to bust wide open!

New Eclipse Figures

OMG OMG OMG!

It’s only the biggest cultural phenomenon of the last decade, so if you’ve been missing out on the whole Twilight thing, that’s perfectly understandable. Or not. At all.

The newest movie chapter in this bona fide saga, Eclipse, is the most massive yet, and you know NECA’s right in there, bringing you all the supernatural goodies you can handle and then some. Whether you’re pulling for Edward or Jacob, you’re definitely going to want to check out our newest line of Eclipse 7″ action figures!

It’s a hard choice, vampires or werewolves, and we figured why make it when you can have both? Eclipse series one features both Edward and Jacob in all their brooding/hyper-abdominal glory, plus the first Twilight villain ever to be made into an action figure (and we’d know, since we’re the ones making them), Victoria!

All three figures are available now, featured on our Amazon storefront, and if you haven’t yet seen our official Eclipse store, now’s definitely the time.

Marvel Universe Iron Patriot Unmasked Variant – Big Bad Toy Store

Back in March, we asked Hasbro about the possibility for an unmasked Iron Patriot variant, based on the card art by Mike Deodato, Jr. They played coy back then, but Big Bad Toy Store has one in hand. At $200, that’s a pretty steep markup, but that may just be a reflection of the availability of the figure.

Has anyone found one of these at retail? If you have shoot us some pictures!

New Star Trek: The Original Series 2-Packs in Stores

I’m not sure if the Kirk figures in this assortment will use a new head sculpt. Spock’s new head sculpt works alright for the “Where No Man Has Gone Before” pilot figure, but I think it doesn’t fit as well as the original sculpt for later in the series.

Behold, the Power of the Dilithium Collection!

Power up your collection with these 2-pk figures from life-changing episodes!

The packs include:

  • “Where No Man Has Gone Before” Kirk & Spock
  • “Arena” Gorn & Kirk
  • “The Enterprise Incident” Romulan Kirk & Spock

Honestly, I can’t wait until 2011 when my all-in Club Eternia subscription kicks in. If Tytus was any indicator, September will be a quick sell-out month with the oversized Gygor figure going on sale. And I think November will be interesting too, since Grayskull was the first figure introduced in the line, back at San Diego Comic-Con in 2009.

Remember back then? The first He-Man on MattyCollector.com took weeks to sell out! 😀

No official pics yet of the line-up, which includes a couple Ghostbusters and the JLU Parademon 2-pack, but we included some from our SDCC 2010 coverage.

ThreeA Toys 2010 Exclusive Nom de Plume

Ebonhorn was kind enough to send me some pictures and a review of the ThreeA Toys Nom de Plume, which was an exclusive figure for people who purchased the ThreeA 2010 Membership. He’s been waiting patiently for me to publish it since before San Diego Comic-Con, and is bummed that Pabs, the slowest reviewer in the world, was able to publish pics of his Blanc de Plume before I could post this. Sorry and thanks, Ebon!

WWRp Nom de Plume - action 3.jpg

A few months ago, a picture surfaced showing off several unpainted 1/12 scale WWRp robots from ThreeA Toys. However, something else caught every one’s attention – a 1/12 scale human body. The fan base went crazy wondering what it could be. It was not long before our questions were answered – ThreeA had developed a 1/12 scale version of their 1/6 scale figure body. In keeping with tradition, the first 1/12 scale human figure would be Nom de Plume, the very figure that the ThreeA logo invokes. Three A announced that people who bought the ThreeA 2010 membership would receive Nom de Plume as an exclusive surprise. I missed out on the membership but had a chance to get him and did. The big question – does he match up with the high expectations set by the 1/6 scale figures? The quick answer – he certainly does.
