Weekend Toy Run: The Walking Dead TV Series Four and More 20% Off at ToysRUs.com

Toys R Us can make it tough to shop at their online store. A lot of times they’ll show coupons online, but they’re only good in the bricks and mortar stores. This weekend, they’ve kindly made their 20% off sale good online too (with code SAVE20), but it’s only good on full-priced items. Luckily, the Walking Dead TV series 4 from McFarlane just arrived in stock, so it’s full price. At TRU prices, it’s a buck more than you can find it at some other retailers, but with the 20% off you can get each for $12 and change. Best of all, you can combine this with the free shipping for orders over $49.99.

If the Walking Dead isn’t your thing, you could also save on the Batman Classic TV Series action figures from Mattel. With the SAVE20 code, the figures are $15.99, the same price you can get them in other online stores – but TRU still has the Riddler in stock at the normal price, whereas other places like Amazon are sold out and only selling the Riddler through third party sellers for more.

The SAVE20 code expires today. Happy shopping!

Truth by Combat – a Seventh Kingdom Epic by Superdadd2 and Izdawiz – PowerLords.com

I just love fan-created stories depicted by action figures. Sure, the Four Horseman have said that Superdadd2 and Izdawiz’s epic isn’t Seventh Kingdom canon, but that doesn’t stop it from being a hell of a lot of fun. Check it out!

Superdadd2 is the kind of collector who believes that action figures should see tons of play. Over the years, Superdadd2 and his sons have used action figures to create both comic strips and stop-motion movies. His sons have gotten good enough at this that one of their stop-motion movies won a $10,000 prize.

The Never-before-seen “Truth By Combat” comic photo strip featured below is classic Superdadd2. He delights in mixing and matching various figures from numerous unrelated lines to tell a story. It’s important to note that the story in the photo strip below (written by fellow Four Horsemen Fan Izdawiz) is in no way Seventh Kingdom canon and has not being approved by the folks at Four Horsemen Toy Design.

Ask Matty Q&A for 11/1

Hope you had a good Halloween! Here’s some treats from the gang at Mattel.

1) With regards to 2014 / 2015, you’ve said that since there are two Snake Men left it’s likely to see them split across the two years. Does the same kind of rationale apply to Stridor and Night Stalker? Or is there too much tooling to consider them in the “big hitters” category that qualify for the next two years?

Our goal for 2014-2015 is to release all of the basic figures. How many beast or vehicles released has yet to be announced. We can tell you the more tooling a beast or vehicle has the less likely it will be released ?(unless a basic vintage figure like “Gwildor” etc.. which we will prioritize).

Star Wars Black Series 2014 Wave 1 Hi-Res Pics

Star Wars Black Series 6-inch 2014 Wave 1

We previously swiped (the low res) shots from YodasNews.com of what we were calling “wave 3” of the 6-inch Star Wars Black Series figures. Hasbro has shown us some love and shared what we’re going to start calling “2014 wave 1” of the series – that’s the official word from Hasbro.

This wave still includes the regular Stormtrooper, Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi, and Bespin Luke Skywalker.  In hi-res, it’s a little harder to overlook the sad-face paint job on the eyes. Obi Wan and Luke are sad! I hope that as this line continues to succeed that we see some increased paint apps there.
