Masters of the Universe Classics Buzz-Off, Christopher Reeves Superman and More on Sale 12/15

I’ll be really interested to see how the 12-inch Christopher Reeves Superman does this round. He and General Zod, who was previously released, will probably help Mattel gauge whether they should continue developing figures in this scale. These two figures will be accompanied by the MOTUC Buzz-Off, the JLU Darkseid and Kalibak 2-pack, and the Masters of the Universe art prints that were sold briefly at San Diego Comic-Con.

Here’s a link to the bundle page for your convenience. Happy shopping!

Diamond Select Toys Reveals Toys R Us Marvel Minimates Wave 10

Fan favorites Blink and Morph from Age of Apocalypse (I’ll just pretend they are from the eXiles comic) are part of the next wave of Marvel Minimates from Toys R Us.

Toys-R-Us Minimates Wave 10 Revealed!

Continuing the Minimate invasion of the Toys”R”Us aisles, this latest assortment of Marvel Minimates is sure to impress with a mix of some of the old with the new as well as some more Age of Apocalypse two-packs to fill in the gaps in your collection!

First up is Shadowlands own “street level” heroes Spider-Man and Iron Fist. Do they have what it takes to take down Daredevil and the Hand? Next in the assortment Danger Room Wolverine faces Russian super-soldier Omega Red in a battle to the death!

Finishing things out are Toys-R-Us exclusive Age of Apocalypse two-packs! The first of these exclusives features Sabretooth and his unofficially adopted daughter Blink. Rounding out the assortment is one of the Horsemen of Apocalypse Nemesis and Professor X impersonator Morph.

Update: Marvel Universe Masterworks Galactus and Silver Surfer Even Cheaper ($19.99!) at Amazon.com

Wow, I didn’t think Amazon could drop their prices even lower, but Galactus is now listed at $19.99 – that’s ten bucks cheaper than it was on Friday and $12 less than when it originally was discounted. At this price, there’s no free shipping, but it shouldn’t be too hard to find a $6 item to get it to the $25 cutoff.

So, this’ll be the third time I’m posting this info, and I can’t promise that I won’t post again if Amazon should drop the price to say, $9.99. If they do, to ease the pain I feel from spamming this great deal, I’ll buy a bunch to give to Toys For Tots.

By the way, these great pics I keep swapping in are from Sandman’s review of the Marvel Universe Masterworks Galactus and Silver Surfer set.

If you’ve been saving up or are still on the fence about Galactus and Silver Surfer, Amazon is trying to make the decision a lot easier for you. The Marvel Universe Masterworks Galactus with Silver Surfer set is on sale for $31.99 right now, and that qualifies for free shipping.

I’m not sure you’re going to find a better deal than that, and right in time for the holidays too! Happy hunting!

Universal Studios Classic Monsters MEGO Frankenstein

DSCN0615.JPG

I never owned MEGOs when I was a kid, so I’m not all that familiar with them. As an adult, I’ve seen them being used in Robot Chicken and Toyfare, even in the movie “The 40-Year Old Virgin”, and I know that they are classic toys, but I never purchased any of them.

Now they have made sort of a comeback with EMCE starting to work on various licenses like the Mattel’s DC Retro Action Heroes and Bif Bang Pow’s Venture Brothers, and they have caught my attention lately. The price had been keeping me from buying any ($19.99 in most retailers), but I decided to try them by purchasing a Brock Samson. I loved Brock so much that when I stumbled upon an Aquaman and Black Manta at T.J. Maxx for $9.99 each I had to pick them up too. When I saw Universal Studios Classic Frankenstein at Toys ‘R’ Us last week, he looked so good I knew I had to pick him up! Am I ill with Mego Madness?
