Q: What’s Better Than Storing Your Action Figures in Big Plastic Tubs? v2

A: Actually having space to display them! 🙂

A few months ago I wrote about having to dismantle my “toy room” because we had decided to put in new carpet, and then about getting to put together a new and improved display. This past weekend, I put the finishing touches on some upgrades.

Marvel Select Iron Man and War Machine Packaged Pics

I saw the Marvel Select Iron Man 2 figures in person at Toy Fair and they’re awesome.  They’re probably a little too big for a Marvel Legends collection, but will fit in great with your 7-inch movie figures, if you have any of those.  The pictures also show War Machine as a Borders exclusive – not sure if that’s really the case.

Toy Fair 2010 – Diamond Select Toys Marvel Update

We met with Chris Myers of Diamond Select Toys yesterday and got a rundown on the upcoming toy lines, both licensed and original.  We’ll focus here on their Marvel properties.

Diamond Select Toys continues to develop Marvel toys across its Marvel Select 7-inch scaled line and Marvel Minimates 2-inch mini-figure line (which it calls the world’s most popular block toy action figure), and they’re adding a new scale for Marvel this summer.  Let’s take a look!

Marvel Select Spider-Man Packaged Pics

Even after reading the description I had a hard time discerning that the base for the upcoming Spider-Man figure is a smashed car.  Seems a little uninspired after seeing the Danger Room base for Cyclops.

Marvel Select Spider-Man swings your way

Here it is in all it’s final production in package glory, Marvel Select Spider-Man! This figure features a highly detailed sculpt by the one and only Digger. It also features a crazy smashed compact car base. Look for it in comic stores near you soon!

Marvel Select Cyclops with Danger Room Base Press Pics

I hope that the Danger Room base that is coming with the Marvel Select Cyclops (and the follow-on bases that Diamond Select Toys keeps teasing) proves out the concept that connecting bases would be a great pack-in for an action figure line.  Just don’t call it Build-A-Diorama.

Marvel Select Cyclops Update!

By now you should have seen the upcoming Marvel Select Cyclops figure and his amazing Danger Room base, but as always this Marvel Select release has more than meets the eye!  While the traditional Silver Age Cyclops will be the most readily available version (the recently released Silver Age Marvel Girl is glad to hear that!) – there will also be an alternate X-Factor Cyclops included in each case (that makes 4 Silver Age Cyclops and 2 X-Factor Cyclops).

The only way to get your grubby little X-paws on the variant Cyclops is to purchase a full case through Previews though, so make sure your retailer of choice knows that they need to add this figure to their order form.
