As we’ve heard many times in our various interviews with Toy Guru and Mattel, the team for Masters of the Universe Classics has a long term, multi-year plan for the line. By this time of year, I’d guess that they’ve already laid out 2011 – we’ve already seen a handful of the 2011 Masters of the Universe Classics figures at San Diego Comic-Con. Hey Mattel fans – it’s time for the newest Q&A session of Ask Matty! Thanks to Toy Guru and the gang at Mattel, and happy Friday!
1) You’ve told us that a Masters of the Universe Classics vehicle is planned for late next year. Have you started the product design process? How has the Four Horsemen’s Battle Ram influenced what you will produce for the line?
We have begun preliminary design work. The Horsemen “pitch” vehicle was more of there way of saying, “We can do vehicles too,” since they did not do the vehicles in the 200X line. We are excited to have them on board as we review which vehicle to do!

Everybody’s got a price. That’s something that the Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase, used to say during his promos, and in this case, my price was $24 and change for Mattel’s WWE Entrance Greats figure. Dibiase is one of my all-time favorite heels from the WWE, so when I saw his lone figure surrounded by Triple H and Shawn Michaels Entrance Greats, I had to pick him up.

I am wondering if the new WWE Defining Moments in 2011 replaces the Entrance Greats from this year. If so, I think this is a step in the right direction from Mattel – replacing the electronic stands with Elite style articulation.

No Pot Of Gold At The End Of Mattel’s Rainbow
Did you enjoy the DC Universe Classics 6” action figure line by Mattel and the Four Horsemen? Did it take the place in your heart as THE DC Comics action figure line of all time? Did you have fun tracking down new figures and anticipating ones to come? Well I hope you got a lot of satisfaction out of it because it’s over.

It comes to and end next spring when Mattel will ship wave 17.
