Celebrate Superman’s 75th Anniversary with this Animated Short (Video)

Just wanted to post this video for posterity – it’s an animated short celebrating Superman’s 75th anniversary, and it was created by Zack Snyder and Bruce Timm. At just over two minutes long, it manages to pack in a ton of references to important moments in Supes’ history; his appearances in pop culture, including comics, TV, and movies; and the creators behind them.

There’s so many that DC compiled 75 annotations for the 75th Anniversary Short. One Super-snub – the Superman Returns reboot starring Brandon Routh and directed by Bryan Singer is missing. Ouch!

Check Out this S.H.MonsterArts King Ghidorah Articulation Demo (Video)

I admit, I’m not a S.H. MonsterArts collector, but this video has got me close to the edge on Bandai’s Godzilla products. It’s a demo video of the articulation of King Ghidorah – a MonsterArts release from about this time last year. What’s mind-blowing about the video (created by Michal Shipman) is that it’s done fully in stop motion, making a very cool animated movie. King Ghidorah is still available at Amazon, but at almost 10 inches tall and packed to the scales with articulation, he comes in at $115 and change. But you do want Godzilla’s ultimate rival, right?

Incidentally, 2014 will be Godzilla’s 60th anniversary. Other than it being a comfort that there are still things that are older than me, I’m pretty excited to see what Bandai will do to celebrate that milestone.

ThreeA Toys TKLUB 4 Ronin Oya Sun Up for Pre-Order 11/17 at 9PM EST

The first of four TKLUB figures needed to pick up a classic Tomorrow Queen goes up for pre-order tomorrow at 9PM EST at Bambaland. The Ronin Oya Sun figure is officially TKLUB #4. He includes a big accessory, the Sup Bomb, and is priced at $160 – since it’s a 3AA only release (TKLUB is exclusive to 3AA members), that’s actually $136, shipping included.

Some folks have brought up a good point – with the TKLUB being put up for pre-order roughly two months apart, we may not get a chance to order all four figures needed to qualify for the TQ before 3AA memberships come up for renewal. That would put folks who want the TQ but don’t want to re-up in a quandary. Expect some updates from 3A on this shortly.

Four Horsemen NYCC Exclusive Outer Space Men and Power Lords Staggered Sale Starting Today

The NYCC exclusives from the Four Horsemen go on sale at StoreHorsemen in a couple of hours this afternoon, starting with the Outer Space Men at 3PM EST. This will be followed by a Fan Club-only 48-hour window for the Power Lords at 3PM EST tomorrow. And if there’s any remaining in stock, the Power Lords sale opens up to everyone at 3PM EST on Saturday.

They’ve made it clear that this time there’ll be no additional inventory made. So when these sell out, they’re gone, and any sales accidentally made over the allotted inventory will be canceled. So bear with the store potentially crapping out on you and get that sale done. And if you’re not a member of the Power Lords Fan Club, maybe now is the time to get signed up. DC Collectibles Solicits Reveal DC Comics Designer Series by Greg Capullo, More Supervillains, and Arrow 2-Pack

DC Collectibles played the Spoiler Alert game with the Capullo Riddler, and he’ll be joined by 3 other figures in the first series: Batman, Talon, and Nightwing. They’re due out in April and May next year. The solicits also more New 52 super-villains with Bizarro and Deathstorm (who?), and included the Arkham City Two-Face that was teased in the week with Solomon Grundy feature – apparently he’s on his own, and not with another wave of Arkham action figures.

Finally, an action figure 2-pack for the Arrow TV series, with Oliver Queen and Deathstroke – are you guys excited about this?
